Lucifer of the Dunes
And my dice aren't weighted.

“This must be some sick fucking game.”

A choked voice barely managed to escape an agony strangled throat. Eyes of a crimson hue blinked away the warm sting of tears that managed to escape tear ducts that had rarely ever been used. Muscles flexed under black as night fur, barely holding in the rage that tried to surpass the agony. White hot, strong, and body changing emotions swirled in a mind that was already tainted. They were bringing out something worse, something that made the demon slowly step forward.

Slowly eating up the distance between what was seen and his own body, Lucifer let his head lower by small increments until his nostrils were touching a thick strand of hair that slowly pooled outside of a mouth that showed white gums. His bright eyes searched what he could scent, but they struggled to take in what was before him. It was as if his world was fully crumbling, something he never would have figured after his last discussion with the one whose hair now laid upon his beach.

Before Lucifer lay a corpse. It was a draft stallion, one that pushed the scales just as much as himself. The black sabino was his own sire, which had Lucifer even more confused at what he saw. In Enigma’s mouth lay a ripped out piece of Baba Yaga’s mane. The thick chunk was barely able to hold scent, but it did. Beneath the ocean crusted strands, he could smell his sister upon them.

Moving his hooves, the Demon King circled the corpse of his father. Wounds lined the man's body, but Lucifer did not know which were from Yaga or from the rocks in the ocean. He couldn't digest anything at the moment. The inability to make sense of everything had him tasting bile on the back of his tongue. If he could puke, he knew he would. It was such a surge of emotion that he found himself lifting his head and turning it towards the sea. He scanned the distance, looking out over the ocean towards Luthien. Did her herd know that Yaga was taken? Was the Forest okay in her absence? So many questions with answers Lucifer could never give them.

Looking back towards his territory, Lucifer eyed the Dunes for a long solid moment. His long onyx tail slapped at his hocks as he thought, making himself try and find out what he should do. It did not take him long to decide. Heaving a call towards Ceyx to let the stallion know he was leaving for now, Lucifer dived into the sea. As he swam, the stallion held the piece of mane he had stolen from his sires mouth in his own. If anyone would know what had happened, the Forest’s herd members would be the best place to ask.
