Anpu & Anput
and One Seventeenth Nome Representor.
A storm raged up in the sky. The sound of thunder booming and lightning crashing sent a chorus of a song that had the world trembling. The music hid two sets of hoof beats upon the lands of The Lost Islands. The deep bass of thunder cloaked every step, every breath. It was the rain however, that hid their scents. It was the clouds covering the moon that hid their darkness. It was everything that made a storm in the fall that managed to hide these two equines until finally… the moon managed to make its appearance in the dark sky.
Moving over The Crossing with their hooves steady, two creatures of midnight stared straight ahead. Dipped faces twisted slowly, looking around themselves before pointing back ahead. Scars lined their black bodies, leaving small streaks of white where their skin had healed and the fur had changed. Darkness lined their golden eyes, showing past things that had both of them not the same as they had been born. Deep in their scent, even though the ocean and rain tried to wash it away, the air of Egypt had ahold of them. Deep in their lungs, they still held the hot air that made them who they were. It came out in puffs that the rain managed to drag down time and time again. It was who they were, even though their names were not really said without the Greek form of them.
Blinking golden eyes, Anpu turned his head to his lover. His black ears twitched in her direction and his hooves pulled at him enough to drag him closer until his shoulder touched her own. Against him, Anput grinned faintly before giving him her own golden stare. Together, they were carbon copies with just the finest of differences. Anpu was fifteen hands tall, which was a whole hand taller than Anput’s fourteen. Anpu was a stallion, which made him the opposite of Anput's marehood. Two sides of the same coin… That's what they were.
" يجب أن نذهب" Anpu said to his dark lover. His ears twitched as he listened to what she would say or do, but it did take a while for the woman to reply to him with her words in English instead of Arabic. “We should, yes, Anpu… but my love… We are not in Egypt anymore.” Her tone was soft whereas Anpu was more gruff. Her golden eyes were softer whereas his were harder as she reached forward and lipped his cheek. “We must learn the customs of this land before we try to make a place for ourselves. It won't be easy… but when has anything been easy?” Her voice was softly spoken when her hooves stopped. Lipping his forelock, she gave him a gentle smile before she looked around herself. “We can do this… I know we can.”
When Anput quit moving, Anpu stopped with her. His lean and desert bred body shifted until he stood protectively with his mate. Together they had been since foals. Even in a new world… They would not be separated so easily. “They won't just claim one of us if that is the custom of these lands. It's either both of us or neither of us.” Anpu spoke, this time in English. It was hard for him due to how heavily his native tongue held onto him, but he managed it. Letting out a deep breath, the Egyptian bred Arabian stood still with his mate in the storm.
