Evangaline
Just know that I forever love you.
Evangaline was taking her fill of the water when she heard hooves coming her direction. Lifting her small head from the water, she turned to face who was coming her way. It was a dark mare, one she vaguely thought she knew? She did not show the puzzling feeling in her gut upon her face, but her eyes danced with familiarity that held no name. She had been with Raegar only a snippet of time in the grand scheme of things, but thanks to him she was still walking and alive. If he had not found her that day in the Commons, she would not be here and she never would have learned how wonderful it was to have a child.
When the mare spoke, Evangaline thought for a moment before a lightbulb started to flicker in the back of her head. “We might?” She said before the mare's name came into the air. Sinaet. She knew that name in passing, which had her brows furrowing for a moment. “I am Evangaline. I come from Salem and the Badlands.” Her voice was a bit uneasy, but she swallowed for a moment before the light fully flickered on with a squeak leaving her lips. She finally realized why this name was so familiar and it had her bushy tail raising and an executed look coloring her face as her ears perked forward.
“Yes! You were one of the herd members of Raegars herd!” The obvious glee had the mare's body almost trembling. This was the first one other than Arsinoe she had seen since Raegar vanished. It made her heart race a tune of joy as she forced herself to stand tall. “Are you coming back? Arsinoe reclaimed the Badlands! It was amazing seeing her.” She did not say anything about Raegar though, knowing her heart would quake if she were to try and speak of the still missing stallion. She was now quiet, but one could not say she was overjoyed to see another herd member in the flesh.
