Let me be your rain;

Tefnut
So I can quench your thirst.

I AM Tefnut.

”It’s not worth the tears you could shed over bones you know nothing of.” A sentence was said as the red dun maiden named Tefnut stared out over the sea. Her blue eyes were glassy and held pain, but nothing was capable of shoving the look or pain away. Instead, the mare turned slowly and faced the two toned frame of her sister. Aadrika was taking this better than Tefnut, which left the plain red mare confused in many ways. “Why do I mourn a man I don’t know?” Her voice was broken, but it was strong in ways that left much to be desired via Aadrika.

Watching her sister tilt her head, Tefnut waited a moment. It was not long before Aadrika spoke, but Tefnut was not sure she exactly liked that answer. ”Because, even if you did not know him, you know he sired you. You know how Lucifer came to care for you, which makes this probably bitter sweet.” As Aadrika fell silent, the blanket marked mustang cross gave a soft smile before nuzzling her sister's cheek gently.

A while back now, they both had left the Bay for a short jaunt onto the Crossing. Neither of them had any real plan, but it had them returning in different states of pain and suffering. Aadrika had held it together just until they reached the Bay before she crumbled. Tefnut had yet to fall into the clutches of her odd grief, but she could feel it coming forward. Aadrika had met their sire, had been partially raised by him before joining Tefnut in the Bay. It made sense for Aadrika to be mourning… but Tefnut had no real reason to be feeling this way.

”It does not take much for you to feel grief, Tefnut. You just have to learn on your own what makes you truly feel that way.” With those words, Tefnut feels one last touch from her sister's muzzle before the woman heads off. Tefnut should be doing her rounds, but she finds herself just turning back to the sea and watching the waves roll and crest. The sound of water pushing against the beach had her eyes closing as she sucked in a deep breath. “I wonder if it's the fact I don’t know anything about him… and the feeling of knowing I lost whatever relationship I could have had?” She asks the wind, not realizing her sentence could be heard by whoever was coming her direction.
