Even with the open office environment, I can use one of the many focus rooms that are available to get away from noisy neighbors. I asked my boss if she could give me any hints about prospective layoffs at our company before I got serious about selling my house, and she thinks our team, and I in particular are/am very safe.

I want to stick it out for the next three years. Bank as much money as I can and then move either: (i) into teaching, or (ii) helping to rebuild financial regulators and regulatory frameworks that are being stripped down by Acting President Russell Vought.

Writing that makes me wonder if I should just suck it up with the commute and stay where I'm at for a few years.
