February 25, 1969 - March 13, 2026
Charlotte, North Carolina


- With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Gary William Morton, Jr.
He was 57 years old. Gary was born and raised in South Florida but spent his career
and adulthood in Charlotte, NC.

Gary had an immense love for the sport of jai alai. He played as an amateur in Fort
Pierce, Florida under the name “Bennett” and was a true fan of the game.

Gary had a remarkable career as a Financial Advisor. He obtained his Series
7 through Wachovia Investments and quickly excelled as one of their top performers.

Gary finished his noteworthy career at Fidelity Investments. At Fidelity, he
managed over one billion in assets and earned his CFP designation.

He is survived by his parents, Lyla (Bennett) Roberts and Gary Morton, Sr. He
is preceded in death by his step-father, John Roberts and half brother, Brett Morton.
Gary also leaves behind a sister, Lyla (Morton) Boccuzzi and nieces, Brooke and
Paige, as well as his beloved, Riley.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Red Rocks Cafe,
4223 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC, 28211 from 6:30-9:30pm.
