Re(1): Peter Robinson - UPDATE IP: 1.146.195.135 Posted on 29/4/2026 at 10:27:05 AM by Rod McKinnon
Update on Peter received 28 April 2026.
Two weeks ago (yesterday) at about 8 in the morning Peter had a significant stroke.
He's received excellent care since then at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, at first in ICU for 5 days and since then he has been on the neurology ward. He quickly regained some movement in his L side following a procedure to remove a large clot in an artery R side of his brain.
On the ward, chest complications have hampered his recovery somewhat and he's also being treated for this, with good results in the recent couple of days.
His speech and swallow remain quite impaired and this will be addressed more I hope during future rehab. A bit of a journey ahead.
He's confused at times but can talk - tho what we hear is jumbled together but discernable.
I visit him daily.
He and the family are hoping he''ll soon be well enough to be transferred to JHC Rehab soon, maybe in the next few days. We are also extremely grateful for the care he has received in this acute phase and also so grateful for the offers of help and support from his mates.
