His sister was gaining distance and he knew soon she would catch up. His attention goes forward as his little chin tucks closer to his chest. His eyes close, for only a few seconds, as he tries to push his legs to go faster. Upon opening his eyes back up he is shocked to see her racing beside him. His mouth gaps open with wide eyes as she pulls ahead. She matches his speed again and he suddenly trips forward.
Thankfully, the colt is able to catch himself before tumbling into the ground below. It was at this moment, as he spies a look to see if she noticed, that he realized he was winning this race. A large smile curls up the ends of his mouth.
Watching the two race off, Nico is content standing next to Raini. Though his mind does still wonder about his next move when it came to the herd, Raini helps calm him. She was sweet, loving, and such a good mother to their children. She knew her sons in and out. He realizes this as she talks about Stormy. Nico wasn't sure how to help Stormy just yet, but there was a chance life would do that for him.
Tino, on the other hand, he had an idea. "I've been meaning to talk with Tino." He says softly. Tino was a perfect candidate unless he ultimately decided it was time to leave the Inlet. "Could you tell him I am looking for him? Next time you see him." He wasn't about to leave this precious moment just yet. He could talk to Tino later once the foals were down for bed time.
