One might have expected that the difference would prove to be the relative inexperience of Atain on the big stage as compared to Gorka. But that was not the case. Atain was at his best and played very well throughout. Gorka played well as expected and won several points with powerful forehand picas.
No, the difference was that Goitia played more boldly and aggressively than Johan and threw far more winning kill shots. He literally scored every time on every cortada thrown.
The theme for Johan this summer is that he needs to match or surpass the aggressiveness of Urreisti and Goitia. Johan probably has the most pure talent of anyone, so it's all about him deciding to impose his will. Replies:
