I can remember trifecta wagering at our local track Finger Lakes in the mid-1970's.
It was a $ 3.00 bet but they switched to $ 1.00 in the late 1970's which really helped the pools.
I also remember the exotics were very limited.
Daily double on Races 1 and 2, Exactas on odd numbered races and trifecta (with no exacta) on the last race.
