i. the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
ii. anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
iii. adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
iv. the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
v. the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors

It had been a quiet summer in the Prairie. Perhaps too quiet. Such long periods of peace made the sable stallion nervous after a while. After all, it was after the relief of Vervain's return that everything fell apart. Lir wondered if something about the brindled girl's absence that made his parents depart the islands. He couldn't really ask them now..

His hazel eyes flicked to the white-marked girl grazing within a few yards of his position there on the hillock. He'd told no one of her appearance. Lir was still in disbelief that she was here. Maybe he thought breathing her name would be enough to break the spell and she would dissolve into a westerly wind. He was so very glad to see her, but it was taking everything in him to not bombard her with questions, inquiring after the others she'd spoken of.

So, he moved off, giving her the space he felt was needed and heading off on yet another patrol of the borders.
