On a positive "Summer League" note, the video quality from French Basque television for these partidos is the best I've ever seen. Makes for very enjoyable watching.
I completely agree with Jatna77 regarding Libois. While I generally like Libois and he is a pretty good young player, he is not top tier yet and really has no business competing in the "Summer League" tournaments, especially as an automatic participant who was exempted from even needing to qualify. Let's be honest, Libois was probably the sixth or seventh best front courter in Dania this past season which does not make him a world class player who has earned these opportunities. Players like Goitia, Txanika, Tambour, Goixerri, etc. are clearly better, and in some cases MUCH better. Libois' skill level at this point is more comparable to someone like Astrelarra.
It's hard to envision Libois winning any of these upcoming "Summer League" partidos. Right now he is a 100% left side player with no forehand at all. In the July 2nd partido, Libois didn't catch more than a couple of balls on his forehand side for the entire match, and didn't throw a single forehand rebote in bounds the entire night. Must be painful for more well-rounded players with great rights sides like Goitia and Txanika to watch this.
I continue to be impressed with Oyhenhard. He's a top five back courter in the world in my view. Replies: There have been no replies.
