The quality of play in this partido was at a very high level -- one of the best played matches of the entire spring/summer season.
To say that Garcia was EXCELLENT tonight would be an understatement. It was clear five minutes into this partido that Garcia was completely dialed in and simply was not going to be beaten by anybody under any circumstance. If Garcia plays like this he is capable of winning any tournament no matter whom the competition is.
Every throw Garcia made from both the left and rights sides were absolute rockets that were also very well placed. He threw his reverses and left side rebotes so hard that it was reminiscent of Juaregui, but Garcia's forehand is about 5x better than Juaregui's ever was. Lekerika had to work his ass off not to be constantly pinned in the back corner and eaten alive by these throws.
It got to the point where Lekerika felt like one of the only ways to win points against Garcia was to throw caroms and cortadas from the back court.
How comical is it that Garcia needed to qualify for the "Summer League" tournaments while Libois was handed an automatic spot? The opposite should have been true.
