This is what happens when climbing the ladder and protecting a paycheck become more important than the people you’re supposed to lead.
He never made an honest effort to know the men of the 4th District. Instead, he looked down on them, sat in his bubble of self-importance, and talked trash about them to the rest of the city.
Let’s not forget that he was exempt rank and didn’t even pay union dues. Yet somehow people expected the rank and file to celebrate a guy who was more than willing to bring charges against our union brothers? Give me a break.
Respect is earned, not demanded because you’re retiring. If Headquarters thought he deserved a party, they should have planned and paid for one themselves. The rank and file didn’t owe him a thing. Replies:
