Better Get Resumes Ready Scripps Employees Posted on July 30, 2026 at 11:28:48 AM by FTVLIVE
If you have been reading FTVLive over the past few years, you know about how Scripps has made massive cuts at their stations.
Many people lost their jobs, while those that couldn't run a hotdog truck (i.e. Scripps Corporate Executives) have somehow kept theirs.
As FTVLive told you, part of the Scripps cuts involved the graphics departments at the local stations. The corporate geniuses thought it would be better to kick the graphics people to the curb and hub graphics instead.
It's been a while since Scripps started up the graphics hub, and we thought it would be a good time to check in and see how that process is working.
A Scripps employee, who must work with the graphics hub, tells FTVLive, "If we send the hub a request — it takes 3 days to get it turned around and back to us. 3 days… which wouldn’t be an issue except for the pesky fact that most of our stories can’t wait 3 days for a graphic," the Scripps employee said, adding, "So what the f*** good is a graphics hub if they need 3 days to make a stupid full screen?"
In the past three months, Scripps has seen its stock fall from around $5 a share to under $3.
Newscasts are now prerecorded, graphics take 3 days to make, and the employees left feel demoralized.
Yet, somehow, the C-suite remains unchanged.
An FTVLive reader sent us this screenshot from another website. If anyone out there is thinking that Adam Samson can save local TV, then the industry is completely and utterly fucked.
Just saying....
