1. I struggle to rationalize my wife’s technical aptitude. I rate her as above average in general. She can set up most things she orders. She does some general house repairs (mostly unclogging things, filter replacements) and will run yard work devices up to but not including power cutting beyond light hedger use. Kitchen devices are almost all in scope. But then she won’t change a toilet paper roll, even after I switched to the ones where you can change the roll by sliding it over a fixed stopper. And then a recent miss by trying to run the immersion blender without the motor attachment. I’d rate her technical abilities as wildly bi-polar.
2. She will always be the last one to sit down at the dinner table. Even when I cook, set the table, dish up last, there’s always something she will find to be last to the table. Last night her plate was there, drink, silverware and she inexplicably walked away. It’s officially a thing and we’ve never discussed. I’m not even sure she’s aware and would probably be offended if I brought it up (just my sense, like I’d be trying to embarrass her). I’m sure she has similar observations of my behavior. I suspect knowing when to keep some observations to yourself is important to a lasting marriage. Replies:
