Re(1): Jai Alai League Final 4 streaming Monday 9/21 at 3:45pm EDT

This semifinals partido was to win a spot in the JAL Finals partido in Donostia against Barandika/Basque.

The key to this match was that Urreisti was returning from a two-month absence due to a serious injury to his right arm but was apparently still not fully recovered. Indeed, here Urreisti was afraid to throw his forehand with a normal throwing motion at full velocity in an effort to protect his arm. So he avoided catching the ball on the forehand side whenever possible, and in those instances where he was required to use his forehand his team lost every point. For example, all of his forehand rebotes were simply weak flips to the front wall, and his cortada was a soft changeup into the lower pad.

If Urreisti had been fully healthy and throwing his normal forehand shots, Urreisti/Leke would clearly have won this partido and perhaps even by a comfortable margin.

High cesta to Gorka in this one. He threw a lot of winning shots from the back court with nasty overhand picas.

I'm guessing that by the time of the World Championships in Colonia, Urreisti will be back to full health and letting his forehand rip.
