Re(2): Mike Brunelle obituary

I second Big Mucho's statement that nobody ever loved jai alai more than Mike Brunelle Sr. I first met Mike (both Sr. and Jr. along with Pete P. and Bobby D.) when I was about 16 (so 1978-ish). This was long before Jai Alai Heaven in Bloomfield. Mike knew that I loved to play but I didn't yet have a car so Mike would drive from Wethersfield into Hartford to pick me up and then he'd always take me home afterwards even though it was out of his way. We'd go play at any number of places (the old Grants in Newington, GELCO (or GEMCO) in Newington, Hartford High School, the A&P on Broad St in Hartford, the amateur courts in Milford. The man just loved playing and watching jai alai. And he liked to place a bet too. We'd go to Milford and Hartford Jai Alai, Tele-Track in New Haven and even the Northampton Fair for horse racing in Massachusetts.

RIP Mike Brunelle. High Cesta to you. My condolences to his family.
