He should be - By Linda May 20, 2012 at 02:14:38 AM We can't get "Henmnan Hill" ... how about some sort of honour to him in Oxford, the town of his birth, .. name plate at the house he was born ... a street named after him .... a statue ... (there's one of Captain Mainwaring in Thetford, Norfolk) ... or am I in the realms of fantasy! - By Linda May 12, 2012 at 04:58:26 PM
Kyle Edmund .... excuse me if I boast ... but not only is Kyle a Yorkshire lad BUT he is also a friend of my niece!! Howsabout that then! Are you totally underwhelmed! - By Linda May 10, 2012 at 00:48:36 AM I don't like that blue clay and it seems to be slowing the players down as they're nervous about injury. And if, like yesterday, a competitor wears green shoes - yuk! - By Liz May 9, 2012 at 12:17:06 PM Caught a bit of "Who do you think you are" - and it was Matthew Pinsent ... it got me thinking that Tim's family history would probably be very interesting, we know he had relatives that played at Wimbledon, for instance. Maybe Tim wouldn't want to share his family history with the Nation - I think he is very private. Matthew Pinsent's story was amazing! He was of Royal blood and great generals and all sorts. . - By Linda April 23, 2012 at 03:20:57 AM My hotmail has been sending e-mails to "Junk" so I missed Christine and Frank's request for the tickets. So sorry Linda and Gill; they actually replied first. Now I'll have to spend the afternoon sorting out what else I've missed:-( - By Liz April 22, 2012 at 07:02:39 PM If I don't find a home for my Wimbledon tickets on 7 July, I'll have to return them. Any takers? - By Liz April 21, 2012 at 01:01:01 PM (no subject) - By Liz April 17, 2012 at 00:23:39 AM I see there's no Murray in the team for the DC tie against Belgium next weekend - now why doesn't that surprise me??? Apparently he wants to stay in Florida to work on his game with Lendl ..... Team is the same as v Slovakia - James Ward, Dan Evans (who doesn't seem to have done much since), and Fleming & Hutchins for the doubles. They'll do VERY well to come through that one! - By Jean March 27, 2012 at 04:17:21 PM And now that Ward has pulled out with a back injury the situation's got worse. If GB ever get another home tie, I hope it won't be in Scotland to suit someone who only plays when it suits him. - By liz April 4, 2012 at 11:04:41 PM I thought exactly the same, Jean, when I heard it on the radio. But even WITH Murray, to me, DC feels, well, nothing. I think, beause he cared SO much about DC, Tim actually inspired players from other countries, he lit up the competition with his dedication and patriotism. Still, good that Fleming & Hutchins are around and I know they'll give it everything. It's just that Tim was so very very special and I don't think we'll see anything quite like him again. - By Linda March 27, 2012 at 10:59:22 PM Thanks for that Vicky - very nice photo of the pair. - By Diane Brindle March 26, 2012 at 06:04:54 PM
There's a lovely picture of Tim & Kyle holding their winning bouquets on the Zurich website! If anyone else is interested - & Tim plays again next year? - I'd love to go to this tournament as the formula sounds innovative & fun. - By Vicky March 25, 2012 at 04:39:28 PM Tim (doubles) on live stream now (link inside) - By Danyelle March 24, 2012 at 10:13:24 PM Did anyone see Tim on Sport Relief? He was actually trending on twitter at the time. Mostly mean comments, but never mind. Someone said he'd put weight on! Someone else said they weren't surprised that he couldn't even win against Miranda Hart. Meanies! I thought it was great he did it! - By Danyelle March 24, 2012 at 07:37:45 PM Glad you enjoyed the video. I did get tickets for Wimbledon Liz but unfortunately I will be away (very bad timing) so have given then to my cousin Vera. Will probably never get then again. - By Diane Brindle March 24, 2012 at 05:27:35 PM All Tim's fans should look at this website it is just great - you will love it. Click on to www.wearetennis.com go along to the third column under the heading BlogCraig Gabriel and drop down to 'The Right Thing to do Quizz' - Tim Henman, it is great, so typical of him. - By Diane Brindle March 23, 2012 at 10:34:47 PM They might show it again later. Last night after the doubles match they did an interview with Tim and Edmund followed by a documentary of all the players in which Tim featured quite alot. This was followed by the whole Final last year of Tim v Philippoussis. - By Diane Brindle March 23, 2012 at 10:18:58 PM Tim is on live streaming now playing doubles (21.10pm) - By Diane Brindle March 23, 2012 at 02:11:05 AM That was more like it - a comfortable 6-4 6-1 win over Leconte. Tim can't make the final now - and wouldn't you just know it, there's live streaming available from 4.30 today! Link inside if you want to watch Safin v Moya ... - By Jean March 22, 2012 at 08:24:52 PM
Albert Hall. I see that Tim will be playing there again in December and the tickets are already for sale. Do you plan to do a group booking again this year Jean? - By Diane Brindle March 22, 2012 at 05:10:28 PM Rivalry Article someone tweeted about... (link inside) - By Danyelle March 21, 2012 at 10:39:23 PM Sadly Tim lost to Edberg last night - broke early but was broken back when he served for the set at 5-4 and ended up losing it 11-13 in the tiebreak. He then went 0-4 down in the 2nd before holding once, but lost it 1-6. Another tough one v Flip tonight! - By Jean March 21, 2012 at 02:58:15 PM Keep an eye on Comic Relief this week - apparently Tim's in a special edition of Miranda Hart's show, with them playing tennis at the Albert Hall. Obviously filmed during (or around) the tournament in December! - By Jean March 18, 2012 at 09:22:09 PM Many congratulations to Fleming & Hutchins on winning the title in Delray Beach last week - don't forget the ATP Draw Challenge begins again this week with Indian Wells. Good luck everyone! - By Jean March 7, 2012 at 03:19:39 PM Wimbledon 2nd July No. 1 Court - By Christine and Frank February 25, 2012 at 07:33:29 PM Wimbledon Tickets Court 2 Saturday 30 June. Any takers? - By Liz February 23, 2012 at 04:18:38 PM I wonder what happens with DC if Scotland get their independence .... I suppose that will settle that, and it'll be a Scottish team & an English team? Interesting. - By Linda February 19, 2012 at 06:46:03 PM
