- ABSOLUTELY, Eileen! The support for Andy is half hearted and a world away from the love the poured from the stands for our Tim. and that may sound daft, but it was love. Tim was one of us. SO British. If Tim had won Queens, as Andy Murray has twice, then there would have been dancing in the street! - Chatting with my brother about this Wimbledon before it all got going, he wouldn't agree with the general feeling that Andy Murray was a better player than Tim and he said that Andy wouldn't win Wimbledon and that Tim had more chance of winning it in 2001 than Murray had of winning it this year. Tim just said a Tsonga-Murray final would be the best outcome. Looking at Tsonga I think he's right. This guy has really upped his game this Wimbledon. His Federer match was awesme. Radio 5 live on TV .... Really enjoyed watching John & Tim answering the questions but blimey, doesn't John sways from one side to the other whilst he's talking ... made me feel sea sick!!!     - Mac comes across as disrespectful to alot of people because he is so full on. That's why he does 6-Love-6 I guess as he has that control over the show that a presenter needs. And let's face it, some callers are rather long-winded. Mac thought it was a female to chat up, but he was wrong. Shame he came across like he was mocking the lad.     - Don't get much time to sketch lately unfortunately and I got more into photography than art at uni. I sometimes think I should have done art at uni instead of English/Linguistics then I'd have done more. Me and my husband run our own company selling fashion jewellery. - I've got some Davis Cup videos but not actual matches from Wimbledon. I'm sure others that look in on this board have though. As for my favourite Tim match - any one that he won! - Nothing against her exactly and I agree she does a good job on camera... But it is a rather cushy job and has been for years. And whenever I have seen her off camera she always had a face like thunder... I wouldn't be sorry to see her go as long as the replacement did as good a job. - Sorry Danyelle, remember it WELL, but I haven't got a copy of it. I tend not to look back at Tim's matches as it just makes me feel sad! Same as with the kids ... I INSISTED Mike got a video camera (in the days before mobile phones with cameras,etc) and we have lots of footage of the kids when they were little .. but it upsets me to look at it! Don't know if anybody else managed to do the same but I WATCHED Tim & John on Radio 5 live - quite by chance - I had a look what matches were on on the multi channels and much to my surprise saw that Tim & John's radio show was being televised. John said his 1980 Wimbledon final against Borg because even though he lost, he knew it was an historic match., but Tim picked the Paris Masters in 2003 .. and yes, that was so magic .. and one to remember when the Goran experience haunts. - Murray vGimeno. When McEnroe and co were saying this was a comfortable 1st round match for Murray I thought ... a player that's ranked 59 in the world must be doing something right! I always remember Pete Sampras saying there's not much between the top 200 players, it's all in the head. This doesn't apply to Federer, of course! Btw, maybe Gimeno isn't that fancyable afterall.         All I need to do now, Danyelle, is find the blinking paper as it seems to have vanished! Mike had it next to the bed as, unlike me, he actually READS the money section of the Sunday Times, I only looked at it cos darling Tim was gazing at me from the back page. Tim alert! Vicky's just rung me to say she caught a preview of an interview to be shown on Sky News this morning - on the Saturday Sport show which starts at 11.30.       - Definitely not! If a match is so close that it gets to 6-6 in a fifth set it doesn't deserve to be possibly decided by a fluke lucky net cord or mishit shot, as can happen in a tiebreak. And how often are we likely to see that sort of marathon??? :-) Hope they don't put it on Centre though, just in case ...         No, the French and Oz Opens are the same, it's only the US Open (where TV rules the roost) that they go to the tiebreak in the fifth set. I think some of the players were asked about it last year and there were pretty mixed opinions, though I think the majority preferred it without the tiebreak. - By Jean June 21, 2011 at 01:44:57 AM
