During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

There was no vocal answer, only the coughing which made the young one convulse. Hope watched with sadness as the pup struggled to get to his feet only to fall back down and shiver. It was set then, they would keep a good watch over him. Silence knew the decision had been made only by the slight stiffening of Hope's body, her tail sticking almost straight out as if she was ready to attack anything that came close. There was no pity from the white male, only the gruff sense that life was cruel this way. He wanted to tell Hope to just heal the thing and let it go, but she stepped towards it to lick the pup's head gently.

"You mind if I carry you closer to some water? It might do some good to drink a bit."

Though she spoke quietly to the pup, Silence caught every word and knew what was coming next. Hope lifted her head and looked straight at him, the two stared at each other for a moment. He wanted to make her ask, wanted her to tell him to do something so he could pull rank and be angry about it. She didn't say anything.

Silence cursed to himself before turning away. His steps were a little stiff, cerulean eyes cold and almost crackling with annoyance. "I'll go hunt something." He managed to keep the seething out of his voice, but the low growl in which it was spoken in was just as clear. He wasn't happy bringing outsiders in, even if they were pups. Still, he would do the job to keep it alive as best he could only because it was a pup and it needed help.

So he stalked off, heading outside the territory for the peace of just being alone for a while. It wouldn't take long before his temper was back to a normal sort, he was quick to get angry and just as quick to cool off. Plus a hunt would probably do him just as well to spend excess energy.
