The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

Everything was so quiet.. empty as well. My paws fell slowly upon the cold snow, causing my onyx bodice to sink down as I went. It would have amused me if I were in any better mood, or could actually enjoy something without coming back with a painful memory -- I didn’t want to suffer the way I did, and now I blocked such thoughts by thinking and keeping myself busy with others. For once I had a family, a brute and a femine who acted like they liked me. She was kind and he was caring, protective. Where were they? Firestorm and Beowulf, it was. I needed to see them again, oh how I did. This was what made me start wandering in the first place, setting my mind to find them. My velvet, onyx auds perked in case I could catch anything, but they were only met with the usual sounds; wolves talking in the distance; animals skittering about. There was one noise, however, that captured my attention.. Like nothing I had ever heard before, a loud growl. It ripped through the territory, angered by something -- I was guessing it was an animal, but it sounded like a monster and as much as it frightened me I decided I’d go see what was going on. Still I didn’t know if this was a good choice, but I was curious and didn’t want to be alone anymore. I had too much time to think when I was.

As I moved, my paws were silent. I could hear my heart pounding in my chest, creating a rhythm to now go with my faster pace. My nose had picked up the scent of blood.. Fear spiked at my mind, causing me to hesitate. Amongst all that I could strongly smell Beowulf, and the faint scent of Firestorm. I was guessing she had come down this path, and so if she could do it then I could. As I continued forwards, I tried to block out the metallic smell, instead keeping my nose in the snow. Hell, if anyone was watching it would have look as though I were playing a game. Not a very fun one, I can tell you. It seemed like not too long ago we had all been at the boarder, where there was no blood; but I stopped worrying about the smell when I arrived, because it filled my sight. Everyone looked hurt, bleeding and cut. I could feel my chocolate gaze subconsciously widen as it travelled along -- There were a few wolves I didn’t know here, and I was searching for Beowulf anyway. That was when I spotted Firestorm’s grey bodice, and instantly I was walking over the stained snow to her. She was begging the brute who I barely recognised as Beowulf to wake up. Was he dead? I looked towards her and back, actually I did this a few times as I tried to decipher just what was happening.

’Beowulf?’

My voice was little, shocked. He wasn’t moving, barely breathing and even that sounded painful. I felt that same, warm panic break in my throat and I whimpered. I wanted to do something, but I didn’t know what. His once clear face was now bloody and scarred, so I started as best I could there. With each little whimper I made, my tongue ran gently along his cheek bones and muzzle, trying to get him to respond. The blood came off thickly, seemingly to only be replaced by more. I tucked my banner between my hind legs and continued anyway, ignoring everyone else around me; he couldn’t be dead, and I wouldn’t let him die. Already was there salty tears warming my own muzzle, falling down slowly from my scared chocolate gaze.

’Please get up, Dad.’
