During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

The raven toned brute offered a smile in return. She seemed hesitant about talking so he reminded himself to gently coax. Hell, hadn't he just been doing the same damn thing with that fae, Crimson Rose, at the lake? She had been worse though. This one just seemed not to want to talk while she had dripped doubt from her every pools. Everything she said was "you can leave if you want to" and "you don't have to talk to me", all things that would make a less decent wolf turn right on his heels and leave. But not Kong. He was determined, one of the traits he had picked up from his alpha ship, and he wouldn't turn his back on anyone. He was actually curious to get to know some of his pack, believe it or not. He wanted to have input for Paranoia if she ever asked. Yeah, maybe it was kind of being a suck up in a fashion, just giving him a reason to talk to her, but hell, he didn't care what anyone thought. He admired her avidly for her intelligence. She could keep up with him in conversation no problem.

Or maybe it was just a left over from his alpha days, still feeling the obligation to get to know the back story of everyone. It made for a more closely knit pack, that's for sure. It made less doubt for defeat if or when conflict was in the air. Kong liked to know someone would be watching his back while he watched theirs. He had already made a friend in Kalgalath, the loyal titan with whom he had approached the pack meeting with. From his impression, the stag was observant and wise and was worthy of friendship. Maybe this femora would be the same. He sure as hell hoped so. Harks tipped toward the fae, taking in her soft lyrics with apt attention. A smirk tugged at the corners of his wind drops. Ah, so she wasn't going to make this easy. All the better. He liked a challenge. Plumage wagged a bit at the tip, a reminder that he meant her no harm though she didn't look fearful in the slightest.

She spoke her name and he tilted his pate slightly. Dekay, huh? He couldn't get a feel for it, even silently rolling it around on his pink muscle. It didn't really have any emotion tied to it. He took another glance at the huntress. Maybe that was why it fit her so well. She seemed so...blank. Like she either didn't know how to show feeling or thought it would lead to something bad if she did. He wasn't about to take the whole burden on himself to show her it was okay to show emotion but he wasn't going to back down. The friendly smile was back on his handsome features as he dipped his brow lower and let his rough lyrics drip from his ebony muzzle with a slight hint of charm.

It is a pleasure to meet you, Dekay. How long have you been in Munashii Gekko? I do not recall seeing you at the pack meeting.

He showed no hint of accusation or ill meaning in his speech, not wanting to offend her so early on in their conversation. He was curious as to why she wasn't there, yes, but he didn't want her to feel bad or angry toward him because he called her out on it, so to speak. He simply wanted to know about her, that's all.
