As I had thought, the girl was nice and sweet and friendly. I was normally a good judge of character but had on occasion mistaken people and they had ended up being...well...difficult to say the least. Her giggle is like music in my sensitive ears and it makes my smile widen slightly. Hadn't meant to make her nearly soil herself but hell, suppose I was getting good at sneeking up on people what with hunting for food at the moment. She then points out our eye colour matching and I laugh, my own laugh more short and bark like compared to her tinkling giggle.

I move closer towards her as she herself closes the gap, obviously now knowing she was happy to have company. I see the change in her facial expression at the cigarette and curse inside my head, flicking the nicotine stick away. Had grown bored of it anyway. I look down at her out stretched hand and secretly thank someone out there that at last he'd met someone else that knew what a handshake was and didn't just stand there staring at it like others had. Amelie, nice name. I smile and bow my head in greeting, taking her hand in mine to shake.


Please to meet you Amelie, I'm Blake.


I nod again before letting go of her hand.


So, you live around here?


I ask, casually. I mean, I didn't want to know where she lived exactly. God I was so bad at talking to girls sometimes.
