Desmond was resting at the bottom of the river, the darker blue scales coating the top of his body making him blend seamlessly while his lighter silver-blue scales helped him fit in should from under should he be swimming. Golden orbs tinted with pale blue around their slit pupils were closed, but he was far from oblivious. With the coming autumn the water had chilled considerably, but during the afternoon he realized he was better off in the high altitudes gliding through the cold clouds near Ice Mountain or the like. It might’ve been considered odd for a cold-blooded dragon, but he was accustomed to water, hence his species.

The sudden splashing from above and a bit beyond in the shallower depths caused ripples directly above him, distorting the light and bringing itself to his notice. He reared his fierce head, lips pulled above needle-sharp fangs and teeth as his chest vibrated with a deep growl. Deciding to take the opportunity his eyes narrowed and he pushed off from the bottom, gliding through the water effortlessly until he reached the surface- the top of his crocodilian snout breaking through to allow him to see better on land. What he saw was indeed a disturbance- a lion and a wolf. Icy vapor rose from his nostril slits as he exhaled, and then submerged once more. He swam nearer until he reached the shallows, but it was still deep enough to cover his entire body while he was crouched, and the shade he was in helped in obscuring his silhouette. He wasn’t invisible though, if one looked hard enough they would see him. Curious as to how this might turn out, he again surfaced the top of his snout and through narrowed mirthless eyes kept a fixed glare on the duo, waiting.
