Ice Mountain

The Ice Mountain is much smaller than Wolf Mountain, yet climbing up it is far more difficult and shouldn't be attempted in winter. Some creatures collect the shiny stones at the peak of this mountain for necklaces.

Ice Mountain Peak was an interesting place despite it's harsh desolation. The large feline could appreciate that much, his pale ice-blue eyes staring out at the gray, stormy sky that filled the far horizon. Having been here for several months, the pre-teen liger was interested in seeing what the winter had in store for him and his brother. So far, even through the summer months, their declared home had been freezing cold and covered in an ever-fresh sheet of snow. The white and vaguely silver striped cat had a feeling it was going to be a long season, but he had every intention of making it benefit him in some way or another.

Pale blue eyes narrowed out over the darkening horizon, zeroing in on a fast moving object that was quickly making it's way up the mountain side. From where he lay, quite nicely hidden, in the snow, Squall watched the tiny owl careen up the treacherous mountainside on cheating wings, a tinge of envy hitting him with a small smirk. Lucky little devil, that bird was. If only he were so blessed with flight... But no, he traversed these dangerous lands by foot, having no other means of travel... yet.

Squall remained quiet as the little elf owl perched slightly above him at the very crest of the mountain's peak, watching as it started its fire in an awfully clever manner. Shame, though, that the poor little bugger seemed to be uneducated in the ways of blessings. That was an interesting little advantage to this land.

The young white and silver liger opened his mouth to speak, but the little owl buzzed off once more. Clicking his mouth shut, Squall's silver tufted tail gave a flick that instilled a bit of patience. The creature had just made its fire, surely it would be back. And soon it was, carrying with it a meal that only lasted a brief moment.

The older cub cleared his throat as the elf owl tucked its head under its wing, letting himself be known. He stayed where he was, though, not wanting to complete startle the poor creature. The reputation felines seemed to have with birds wasn't the best, though Squall had no intentions of harming the creature... unless it harmed him first that was.

"Um, hello," the pre-teen started awkwardly, tilting his silver mohawked head slightly and pulling his lips back in a modest smile. "I couldn't help but notice your fire building technique," Squall continued, voice still a little unsure. "There's an easier way, you know."
