During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

w h i s p e r s; they came in the dead of night

Sauntering away from the group was relaxing. A sudden wave of pressure seemed to fall from my shoulders, and the silence of the barren night deafened me; my ears were still half ringing from all the banter. I’d dealt with the stupid, and dying and the suicidal before, but dealing with those three wolves had been.. Completely pointless. It was like talking to a barbed wire fence - there was only a threat of danger, however you could still avoid the actual barbs. I was actually hoping they would take up the threat and set their little inbred family on us. That would literally make great fast food. They were just so obtuse to everything else but themselves.

I took my time getting to the boarder. I didn’t want to ruin the night by having to come across another wolf who thought they could stomp their way through the lands, demanding respect and acceptance. Oh, of course I didn’t assume that’s what this wolf would want, though. It was just one of those little thoughts that nagged you: “Let them deal with it, you can now. You’re the leader. One small command and they will bend their necks trying to please your whims.” - As much as I thought that a satisfying and curious idea to try out, I already knew I was too independent to even do as much as ask them to hunt down some whelp to bring as a snack.

As I neared, a fresh scent hit me as I expected it would. This one, however, was sickly; not just their own individual perfume, but the one stolen from their victims as well. I did have to admit that our diet was no A-grade deal, but I’d been travelling and found enough foolish to disappear without being noticed. Now that I was at Blossom, and in this land, I had previous thought about how I was to go with a pack and myself feeding from the wolves here. I knew a lot passed through, and maybe that was why this land became so perfect. The prospect of having so many new faces, ones that wouldn’t be missed.

Hell, as long as no one tried to eat our day wolves I’d be happy. They had come here willingly to live with us, not as live offerings. Then again, I had found any of them pathetic enough to use as easy prey.

Still, that didn’t explain the demon’s perfume. It was only once I, hidden in the shadows, laid eyes on the corpse did his scent become well suited. A faded brown shag was thrown over some bones in excuse for a body, and shallow shrunken features. I instantly found him interesting, different from all of the others. I knew from the look of this demon that many would want to pick him off, get him out of his misery - while I couldn’t tell consciously, it didn’t look like he was in any misery. Nor did I want to run him away or kill him. I had quickly decided that if he was that brittle looking and still alive, he probably was stronger and swifter then one would first think.

Drawing out of the shadows, if he hadn’t already noticed me, I stood back a few feet and openly continued my summary. In the distance I could hear the rest of the pack, but I turned my attention entirely on to this new demon. A small, satisfied smile crawled across my face and I moved a bit closer. I could see the anticipation, smell the night old blood. We were the addicts of a different kind here, and this one knew that much already.

‘Rise.’ I paused long enough for him to stand if he so decided to. ‘My name is Eric, and I am the leader here. You are on the lands of Munashii Gekko. I can see you aren’t the usual type, and I’m assuming you know that we have.. An alternative life style, best say.’

My smile grew larger, daunting and charming. I had pulled my banner over my spine and my head was raised dominantly. There was no real doubt that this wolf was here without a lust for quarrelling, but for something much different.

‘What is your name?’

əric
so just bite me baby
and drink all my blood
