During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

It wasn't long before they started arriving. Kestrel watched with a cool gaze as the lupines of Munashii Gekko, and the wolves of the outside, the loners, came as well.

First it was Devil's Angel. To the ebony and ivory she-wolf, Kes inclined his head, chin brushing against his deep chest easily. "Devil's Angel," he spoke, husky voice far too loud in the lingering silence. His cold auburn gaze was laced somewhat with a strange amusement as he noticed her pondering at his position, the way his body spoke. "Wait for them to arrive." He added after a minute, a silent reassurance that all would be explained, though he doubted she really needed it. The female was possibly the only one he respected in this entire pack, and even hers was only an admiration at how she sought to obey orders, how she so quickly became a favorite of Red Star's. The alpha female, of course, was the only other one who was worth someone in his eyes - typical Kestrel mentality. After looking at Devil for a few moments, he glanced away, back into the depths of the forest.

Next was another girl, one who didn't even bother to introduce herself. Instead, she simply sat upon the earth. She looked famished, with no meat on her bones... or anywhere else, really. To her, Kes pinned her with a stony stare, one brow (since he didn't really have 'eyebrows') cocked silently. After another few seconds, he spoke again. "I don't know who you are, but I sure as hell know you won't be anyone if you don't submit. She only wants obedient little pups." He did not let Red Star's name slip off of his lips. "Down." His voice was almost a snarl in his chest. He was not the type to tell others to submit, generally, but he was determined to do this right. Kestrel was fair, but only after wolves showed him that he should be fair in relation to them. If not, they should expect little to nothing of the polar wolf. If she submitted, then he would say, "Tell me your name, and who you are. You reek of the old alpha and this pack. So why haven't I seen you around, then?"

A feminine scent lurked in the air, then, and he watched as a rather beautiful she-wolf, painted a dark russet, entered. He did not see her beauty, her curves, her luscious voice. She stank of wolf blood, wolves. A cannibal, then. Most of them were pathetic posers who were truly cowards on the inside, but he couldn't tell what she was. "Crimson." He repeated her name carefully, the syllables slipping off of his tongue. "Submit." He said, words short and sharp, an order behind them. He fully expected her to do so, but if she didn't, another warning growl, similar to the one given to Kaliskia, would ensue. Most wolves were smart enough to expose their throats by then.

A howl sounded through the air, and he simply looked in the general direction, waiting for the newcomer to come to him. He had called, after all, and couldn't just leave the rest of them here - that would be a little strange. After a few minutes, the howl rang out again, and Kestrel's ears twisted and pressed irritably to his skull. And a few moments after that, a large, shaggy, hulking form entered, a smirk on the female's lips. What was she smirking for? Did she think it made her look any more dangerous? Kes only stared down at her as she bowed and submitted before him. At that, he managed a tight-lipped smile, one that spoke only of annoyance and perhaps a little appreciation. "Good girl. Get up." he said. "Patience is a virtue. Your calls are little more than an annoyance - they make you seem impatient as a pup." He spoke softly, before pressing his cold nose to her neck, then stepping back. "Welcome to Munashii Gekko. Tell me - who are you?" His head cocked slightly as he waited.

The teal eyed newcomer smelled completely and wholly of Munashii Gekko, its former alpha, and blood. He looked her up and down, before his auburn eyes met her blue ones. She rolled without hesitation, and he smiled widely, surprisingly natural on his face, showing that maybe, at some point, he had been less than this lethal wolf he was today. Her accented tone was honest and it was refreshing to him. He stepped forward and just as he'd done to the other female, he dug his nose into the hair at her throat, inhaling her scent and then pulling away, looking at her evenly. ”Sookie. Welcome to Munashii – I appreciate your submission.” So Eric was the name of this old alpha. ”You are welcome to stay for now. But later, I will not be the one with the final say.”

He looked over all the females – were there any males around here? He hoped that someone of the other gender would come soon. ”Well, ladies. I am Kestrel.” He introduced himself quickly. ”Your alpha female is Red Star. She has left on… business, for a few weeks. She will be back soon,” He continued. ”In the meantime, she has appointed me as alpha in her spot. When she comes back, your actions will prove your worth here. They will give you your ranks, and earn you respect.” Looking at each of them in turn, the normally silent male parted his lips once more. ”You are accepted for now. It has been fairly easy to enter here, but I am not easy to please. Your quarrels can be sorted amongst yourselves, but anyone who negatively impacts Munashii…” He shook his head slightly. ”Let me make it clear that I will never hesitate to rip out a throat if it is clear that I must do so. Be careful.”
