aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

I didn't want to be alone anymore. I didn't want to wander the lands of Blossom any more without a cause. I'd had just about enough of that. I haven't seen Miya in months and even though I wish it didn't, it kills me. Not seeing Jaylah was hard, almost intolerable in fact, but over time I grew used to it and now it's a dull throbbing pain. This pain of not seeing Miya though is still fresh and so it burns deep and low, threatening to take over if I let it. I feel so pathetic, almost as low as when I was a different creature, a creature ruled by the most savage parts of itself, a monster.

I still don't sleep much, what with waking up dreaming of puddles of blood and screaming wolf cubs as I skinned them and then their parents alive. I broke bones, decapitated, and tortured my victims in whatever ways possible. I stuck their paws in ice cold water and held it there until they lost all feeling in so I could smash the paw to pieces and then wait for the feeling to come back so I could watch them wriggle in pain. It was so fun and yet I can't remember feeling any actual emotions during any of it.

I laughed and I grinned but there was no feeling in it, nothing but raw fury. Jaylah helped me come back to myself and then when I tried to thank her, she rejected me and left me in a storm. I haven't seen her since and it still hurts to this day. I met Miya a few months later and she started to make me feel again, something I never thought I'd do again, something I didn't really want to do again. I'm undeserving of emotions of any kind of good. I've done too much bad in my life to deserve anything good. I try not to get attached to anyone or anything but Miya made that hard. In fact, she made it downright impossible. She found me wherever I chose to hide and she kept finding me and bringing out those sides of myself that I'd been trying to bury since I didn't deserve to ever feel those things again.

To touch her was like heaven and unlike Jaylah, she didn't pull away. She was something innocent and fun loving yet something in her eyes told a different story. I shake my head of these thoughts as I follow the path toward Aurora. I'd heard that the pack was close and friendly. Not that I'm really looking to get close to anyone, but I figured my services would best be served anywhere but out in the loner lands. I couldn't go back to Munashii, not with those repulsive creatures still living there. I couldn't stand to smell them, let alone see them in the lands that she set free. I miss my former alpha like a good dream, but that's all it will ever be now, a dream that ran it's course.

She's gone and her brother Angel is gone and I let the pieces scatter and then ran like a coward and never I can never reclaim her prize. Instead I set my sights on a new land and new beginnings, somewhere I can make a fresh start where no one's ever heard of me, or at least I can hope. Once I find the borders, I stop and wait patiently, ears flickering alertly, muscles ever ready in case hostility finds its way to me. Not like I don't deserve it but I don't plan on going down without a fight.

Soon after resigning myself to wait though, I catch a howl rising over the lands, a calling for a pack meeting. A chance to meet everyone up front? Not my cup of tea but hey, I'll take what I can get. the invitation sending a reaction through my veins, I surge forward toward the heart of the lands, heeding the call. Entering the clearing at a walk, I prick my ears toward the female and instantly notice something off. Something in the way she holds herself, her head, her ears...she's almost too alert. Sure that I'll figure it out soon enough, I stop and dip my way a respectful distance away, flicking my ears back even though I've noted the way she holds her tail. Not the alphas but still a Beta is more than worthy of my respect.

I am called King Kong and I come seeking a new pack. Then I turn my golden eyes up toward her own, noting their milky whites and then it comes to me. Ah, she's blind. Admiration sparks in my eyes for she must be truly a remarkable creature to hold such a title with her hindrance, if you would call it that. Some would call it a hidden strength. There's no judgement here.
