Shadow watched with some shock as Deku made a run for the river. She figured out what he was doing fairly quickly, and his actions were somewhat amusing. Though, she'd never tell him so. With some hesitance she moved from the treeline, drawing closer to the river's edge. She didn't often allow herself to step out into the open, but for her child, she'd do anything, no matter how much it went against her character or habits. Cool gaze studied their surroundings, ensuring that there was no one near to them before returning once more to her son.

She sank down to her haunches on the soft earth near the water. Ebony wings ruffled, spreading wide before being tuck back close to her body. There was a small smile present on her maw, she couldn't help it. She had caught his words, she was happy. Plus, he did look a tad silly standing in the water, his face dripping with water. "Oh Deku." She spoke softly. Her voice was always so soft. "Come, my dear, come out of the river." She tilted her head to the side slightly, watching him. She was so afraid to be near him, unsure how she'd react being near another living creature, but she couldn't stay away. Not now, not after finding him. Or rather, having him find her. She could only hope that her willpower outweighed that of the effects of the curse.
