The air is heavy as you make your way through unknown territory, as you pause to sniff the air a drop of rain falls onto your nose. It is soon followed by another and another and soon the rain is pelting down in sheets, soaking you to the bone. The clouds are an angry purple and the menacing drumming of thunder rolls over the sky. Squinting your eyes against the blinding water you find yourself at the edge of a large, dark pine forest. You are too desperate for shelter to notice the scents that mark the border and plunge in, and nearly into the chilly stream that runs through the territory. You veer away and as you are shaking the water out of your fur you notice a large pair of icy blue shards gazing at you. The storm has passed now and beams of sunlight filter through the thick canopy of pines, illuminating a massive male wolf not three feet away from where you stand.

His pelt looks like a bad patchwork job of black and white and beneath them you see large, hard bands of steely muscle and you know this is a warrior for his torso is marred with many battle scars. His banner curls over his back and his lips are drawn, exposing sharp ivory daggers. When he speaks his voice is deep and dominant, like the thunder you so recently heard.

"Wolf, you have found yourself in the terra of the Andere Seite Pack. I am Eclipse, king of this land."

It is only then that you notice another pair of lanterns gleaming in the penumbra and a dark-pelted fae slinks out into the clearing to stand next to the king, her own banner waves and her green and blue eyes bore into you. She is the same size as most males and a crisscrossing pattern of scars show that she too can take care of herself. Her voice is cold and has a snake-like sound to it yet you can see they are both fair rulers.

"And I am Nephthys, queen of Andere. We don’t care much for strangers so you must make your choice, Submit to us now or flee our lands and never return. If you fail to do either you will have little time left to regret it."

The formidable pair pierces you with their gaze and you feel as if all your secrets spill out before them. You are left with a decision now. Will you submit and take refuge in this dark forest or will you flee and never know what secrets these trees hide? Make haste, you can see that the pair grow tired of waiting.

When her new queen had given the pack permission to be at ease, Tjikiju had quickly taken the opportunity to make herself scarce. She wasn't a shy creature, or one of those anti-social types, but she could already see the way the meeting was going. The young white lass with the smart mouth was digging herself a deeper hole, as was Kodiak. Ti was no stranger to violence, but she had no wish to stay and watch the pair get torn to shreds. Which, judging by the looks on Seline and her relatives faces, was a very likely outcome.

Instead, the old timer had taken a long walk along the borders of the pack, patrolling while making herself familiar with the land. She was pleased with her new home, though the other inhabitants would perhaps take a bit more getting used to. She had weathered her fair share of violence in her long life, the scars that rippled with her coat were plain evidence of that. But it was not something she had grown used to, or something she had grown to like, and she would prefer it to stay that way. She was, really, a gentle old soul at heart, though she guessed it would be better to keep that hidden while around the royal family.

Expelling a soft sigh, Ti paused in her patrol, rubbing her spine against a handy tree. It was warmer here than she was used to, her fur was moulting earlier than it usually would. That uncomfortable itchy sensation was giving the elder grief and she couldn't help but scratch all that loose fur out, making little clouds of creamy white. Her rich gold and silver white gaze was bright with pleasure and contented happiness, whatever happened, she was still glad to be alive. There was beauty all around her, in the chirping of a nearby sparrow, the great trunk of the tree she rested against or the warm blue sky far above her.

Sitting amongst the leaf litter, Ti gave a glad smile, before a yawn overtook her. She was alone and the silence was peaceful, though she would never decline company, no matter who it was that requested it. The old wolf thought back to the pack meeting and idly wondered who she would most like to meet. There were many different faces there, many different creatures with different histories and cultures. That's what she liked about life, how varied everything could be. She loved to meet new friends, learn about their lives and loves, their homes and families. She would share her own when asked, glad to talk about her family and her birth pack. She missed them, of course, and hoped one day to be reunited. She liked to dwell more on the present however, than the past, so she wasn't too worried. If she was meant to see them again, then she had no doubt she would.

Turning her one-sided gaze towards the center of the pack, Tjikiju found herself hoping that company would come. Now she'd thought about it, she was looking forward to talking to another. Curling her tail around her paws and shifting her weight into a more comfortable position, the elder closed those bright eyes, relaxing completely. She felt safe here, surrounded by life and her new family. There was nothing to fear, she'd no need to stand, alert and tense, waiting for danger.
