Satine flew through the skeletal branches, using Aviary to transform into a small, reddish bird. She watched the three wolves carefully, making sure she was high enough to see what was happening. She had not known Strider, but from what she had heard, he was the very well respected alpha of fire pack, and she was here to observe his send-off. She wondered if she would be welcome, since the others looked to her like family, but she figured if she was respectful, she maybe allowed to stay. She flew onto a lower branch and scanned to see what the three were doing. Howling ripped through the air, and she decided to sing a song to give her respects.

Lifting her black head, she struck a mournful tune, and kept in time with the howling. The waters glassy surface reflected the family, showing her that one of them was crying. With a dip of her head, she quietened the song, and moved backwards. She felt like she was intruding, but curiosity kept her where she was, even though she could be plainly seen, and she gave a shiver.
