During the day, sentries guard the sleeping. When the sky is dark and the moon dances with the stars, this is when the real fun begins. Munashii Gekko's forest is the only haunt where you can find your local misfits all in one place. A land of the forbidden and forgotten, a place that is riddled with dangers of a whole different kind. The wolves here have long misplaced their rightful minds, and now live like creatures damned to prowl and lurk through the night. It's easy to lose yourself here, sanity was sure to fade away and wither; there was never anything normal about this nefarious nest. The silent threats that whispered in the breeze were enough to deter even the largest of demons around. It was not strength nor wit that ensured your survival here with Eric, and challengers would be torn down with a morose lethality - there was nothing left in his cold blue eyes that promised mercy to anyone who dared to overstep their worth. So, would you give up the sun for the moon and stars? Do you have enough vigor to become a well regarded sentry? - Put on a game face to step up and pass the sepia king's test or turn and leave before he catches your scent. You never know who wants to snack on your delicious blood in this forest.

& THE CROWS SAW THE FACE OF GOD

She really was the stupidest creature this side of hell. It seemed that Serris had tossed the pup into another prickly bush, but it didn’t even phase the young wolf and she just came bounding out, butt moving madly behind her. Then she opened her maw and let a string of sickly sweet lyrics flow out, bursting with the innocence of youth, and the sound almost made Serris cringe. No, he was no demented beast, but this would make any sane creature run for the hills. Oh, she wanted to fly again? He’d g l a d l y oblige… fling the bitch all the way into the river and hold her under. It was true; a wolf drowned will never find heaven. Or paradise. Pick your poison. Still, after he bit off his first bit of talk, this girl seemed completely desensitized to his threats. Was she really that naïve? Or was he just not that scary? Haha, as if he even needed to think about that one. It was o b v I o u s l y the first one. Serris snorted in agreement with himself and swiveled his sentries to catch the new words she was, yet again, throwing out in his direction. At least she answered his question like a good little hostage should. Kobato. Cute? Ha, more like revolting. The charcoal brute’s muzzle twitched as the hyper words bounced off his whiskers, making them itch.

Kobato stared up at him with eyes of sand and caramel, so pure, so knowing and yet knowing nothing at all. Her light chocolate coat sat thick and short next to her flesh, and he had to admit it fit her well. Even with the strands of strawberry that winded through her derma like serpents of the mighty Wolfbane himself. Tiny auds flicked forward as she focused completely on him, gazing deeply into his ocean pools. Fool. Never give your full attention to one single thing. The next thing you know there’s a bloody assassin on your back and fangs sinking in-between your spine. Serris flicked one of his listeners to the side, catching the sound of rustling in the bushes, but finding it to only be a ferret scavenging for some breakfast. And once again his mind slid back to the pack’s activity problem, making one side of his kissers bunch up in an aggravated growl. No, time to be pissed off about that later, now he had a bigger issue to deal with. Bigger… heh. That’s about the time he let his second line of song loose and, like always, this pup was quick with a reply. She wants to make people’s hearts… happy? “Little girl, this is a land for all those chewed up and spit out by society. The only happiness you’ll find here is the sheer and utter joy when you’re finally dead.” He really wasn’t thinking. He just felt the words rise like bile in his throat and had to get rid of them. But did he mean those oh-so-terrible words? Oh course he fucking did. This girl was giving him a headache. That’s when she started blabbering on about what a whore was. A satisfyingly sarcastic smile slide onto Serris’s kissers, his portals gliding half-way closed in a sort of ecstasy. “A whore, you ask? No, they’re not a scary monster, quite the opposite. Well, you see, a whore is a lovely lady who is loved by everybody, and everybody loves her because she makes everyone so happy. And you see, we’re sorta shorthanded on whores right now, so how about you become our whore for a while?” His sly grin remained on his features, knowing very well what his males would do to her is she went around calling herself such a title. Heh, maybe it would be beneficial to keep this bitch around. But no, she had to go. Munashii didn’t need a little… well, a little Kobato running around the place. He started forward to grab her scruff again, but at that same moment she bolted forward and took up residence beneath his stomach. Serris tripped in surprise, almost crushing the girl, but stumbled to his feet in time to look down and hear her tummy cry out in rumbling rage. Figures she would be hungry. Not that he cared; she could starve and the world would be a better place.

But Kobato seemed distressed at this anomaly and burst out into tears, trying to grasp what this ‘monster’ in her belly was and why it was so unhappy. Serris could only stare at her, spheres wide in utter confusion. Didn’t she ever learn these things? Like, from a mother or something weird like that? He shook his skull, trying to regain his composure. She’d calm down soon enough. This girl couldn’t focus on one thing for more than a second. But he was wrong, since she started to soothe her stomach with words of shaky assurance, finally glancing back up at him for the approval and understanding she needed to continue. Serris simply snorted and walked away, taking care to step as close to her puny frame as possible. This wasn’t a charity. But then that bush started to rustle again and, with Serris already on the edge as he was, the sound was like glass shards pounding into his ears. He stopped stiffly in his tracks, hackles slowly standing at attention, banner curling up like a dead snake. A single breath disturbed the air before Serris shot to the side, emerging a second later with a squealing ferret writhing about in his jaws. He had gotten lucky and latched on right at the base of its skull; a single bite and the bastard would be dead. And Serris almost clamped down, before he remembered his company. With the thing still struggling and protesting, breaking its tendons to try and bite his nares, Serris calmly padded up to the girl. He hung over her, eyes glittering with devious pleasure, and sharply brought his jaws together. An ear-shattering cry rang out, accompanied by a mighty crunch, and the small mammal went limp in his crimson grasp. Blood rained down on the girl, a torrent at first but slowly to steady drops, and Serris roughly dropped the creature at her paws. “Eat up, sweetie,” he purred before walking a short distance to lie down and clean himself. Kobato should have been out of the borders by now, but Serris suddenly felt like playing a little. Not like anything else was going to happen, anyway.
