At the densest section of the forest, there is a brief clearing where a steady flow of water streams down the slippery stone staircase. The water here is cool and refreshing. Staircase Falls has been rumoured to be the place where reality is met by magic; where peaceful spirits dwell. They are rumoured to have healing powers that are used to help the desperately hurt, though no one has experienced this, except for, perhaps, Kaive.

The breeze shifted by the two bodies, although it seemed to linger and create a cold atmosphere around the figures. Clouds in the sky were slowly edging their way into life and filling the sky that would later become a deep navy colour. Dotted with bright yellow lights; which would be in actual fact large balls of fire. Amatus directed his view from the darkening sky to the fair lass as she began to answer him, all of the words were indeed false, and Amatus was going to make sure she knew this; the boy would hate Yoki to think of herself as a worthless scrap of rubbish. “My dear, that is indeed false rubbish and you mustn’t talk of yourself in that manner. Your eyes are beautiful and have much more depth than mine ever shall ever hold.” The knight in shining hide replied, smiling as he did so. He hated it; everyone thought of themselves as rubbish or ugly; which really they were not. Amatus’ eyes twisted around; scanning the fallen angel who had not long ago been snapping at him. Slow movements, kind words were in key right now. No tackling or brutal playing just right now.
A yawn rumbled into the atmosphere; in was quiet but Amatus could hear the screech of it. Yoki was obviously tired from the day’s events, which was understandable. Amatus himself wasn’t tired, he usually romped around in the night; he hardly slept in the night and instead rested in a den whilst raining or on a boulder, basking in the sun in day. It didn’t take long before the angel spoke once again, Amatus couldn’t help chuckling a bit for it was obvious that she was mocking his accent, or rather voice; he didn’t mind though – she was only
joking. Deep down she knew it was sexy.

His voice; let me describe his voice. It was a deep sound, deeper than most wolf’s voices with a regal tone to it, it rumbled and grumbled throughout his words. And sounded like a true group talker; it was quite often loud, too and Amatus didn’t hesitate in using it with speeches either. He took no notice of his voice though some ignorant wolves assumed he loved the sound of the lyrics bouncing out of his mandible. But no, he just decided he had a voice so why shouldn’t he use it? Bounce, bounce; the boy begins to answer the maiden’s fair lyrics.
“Alright, let’s.” The rainbow knight declared, a tone of pure bliss diving into the lyrics. The girl was a bit unsteady on her feet, due to the tiredness of the day. He walked behind, but his eyes attended her at all times; it would not be good if she were to crash into the ground, would it? Yoki was leading the two wolves into a den that he recently found her it. Amatus studied the den as she slightly crept in. It smelt, it smelt like damp and damper but it was a shelter, right? The boy moved in softly so not to frighten the frisky girl.

He didn’t really know how to lie; he just kept his head up awkwardly, and didn’t answer Yoki; not because he didn’t care because his actions had answered it for him. After a bit of shifting around, the richly coloured wolf decided to lie upon his side – but then again, he decided not to. “Are you cold, Yoki?” He whispered, not wanting her shivering throughout the whole night; he’d done that before and it wasn’t nice. If the maiden was cold, he would sleep close, if not he would sleep at another side of the den.
The sky was sunset now; it would soon be a rich, navy colour. Along with mustard stars fixed in the blue sea. Birds did not fly now; they had scampered for shelter before it was too late. But the night was beautiful, perhaps even more beautiful that sunshine; the beams of moonlight was an incredible feeling, even it was just light and air; nothing more. “Hey Yoki, they say the stars are beings who have been deceased, and the most recent ones are the brightest. Some of them have been said to connect together, forming a meaning.” He whispered, his tail thumping lightly; sending a mystified air of dust. “I would love to fly.” He muttered, to himself.

Amatus was indeed a good friend, hence the name Amatus, meaning friend. (He had been named late, saw he was a great friend and named him that.)
