Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

Meeting people again is tricky business

Not long after his howl faded in the air did an answer come, delight coming through its sweet sound. Warrior nearly choked in surprise. Whatever he had expected, it was certainly supposed to sound more professional, and thereby, aloof. He felt uneasy before the owner of the call even came by. He knew and expected business, but affection? He hardly encountered any such friendly beings, and was not prepared to deal with such, but adaptations would have to be made. Soon enough the wolf approached, trotting, full of pep and cheer. Warrior mentally sighed at this.

Though the wolf seemed as friendly as a pup right now, looks were deceiving. He shouldn’t judge a happy person. He’d been happy himself sometimes. It was just that he had been so serious just before she arrived, and ready for hard tests and barking orders and demands, that having this welcoming welcome party was a bit too much of a contrast for him to believe. Warrior took everything way too seriously, lately. Maybe, maybe this was a good thing. To have reality much nicer than what he supposed it was. Perhaps this would give him an optimistic view on life. Having second thoughts, are we? she teased, and he frowned, irked, and resisted the urge to growl.

Second thoughts? he thought disbelievingly, irritated. He had been ready to join this pack, and she supposes that he’s disloyal before he begins. His future in this place a joke! Suddenly, Warrior tensed. This was all so obvious! How had he missed it? It was all an act; hiding behind a peppy facade, the cunning wolf makes a casual remark, designed to test for newcomers’ loyalties, before they’d even know it. After all, the alphas’ famous quote, ‘Do you have what it takes?’ would have no reason to have stopped being in effect. Utter loyalty was all that was wanted, and exactly what he could give. He just had to convince them that.

And now it was time for the test to begin. She introduced herself as Venga, Gamma, and asked for his name and his purpose. Simple, but this would require him to give an actual response, and would tell her a lot about him. It was loaded. And he better not give the wrong answer. Even as simple as the questions appeared, there was more than likely more to them. There was no such thing as a test with no wrong answers. He braced himself, and then answered as best as he could.

“My name is Warrior. I want to join the ranks of Bright Moon, to be as best of service to your alpha, Tamlin, as I can.” He sincerely hoped that he was as polite as was necessary, because that was as formal as he knew speeches could be. Warrior wondered what customs were needed here, and though he was nervous, it ebbed to leave only biding, with him forcing to relax his muscles and be ready to respond to whatever reply the wolf may give, whether it be hostile or friendly, the latter which would require him to not look as though he were about to leap away at a moment’s notice. Old habits do die hard.
