my footfalls are the only thing that can be heard as i pad my way around blossom. a pity, too, that i've no one to 'play' with. two gold jewels shine brightly from a blood-red face in the dusk that precedes the sunrise. my skull swung around, taking in my new surroundings. cliffs of various heights, spacing, and sizes dotted the rock face. in front of it, a huge rainbow hung, making it's home. a thought hit me suddenly. i could make this my home. the thought was so weird, so foreign in my head, that i stopped dead with my cream leg lifted off the ground. quickly i shook my head and continued on my way.
i decided to stay and wander here a little longer. i paced in front of the cliffs, getting a little closer with each pass. i must have looked so weird, pacing below and eyeing the rock. i was looking for the best place to begin my assent. ooo, and i think i've just found it. i was just about to turn in to go to the spot when my foot caught and sent me sprawling. what the....? i grumbled as i pulled myself back to my paws and shook out my crimson pelt. turning around, i looked at the ground for the source of my fall. it didn't take more than a minute to find the culprit and, honestly, i don't know how i'd missed it before. right there in front of me was a big hole in the ground. upon further inspection, i found that it was an abandoned den. badger, probably from the weak scent. that thought from before came back. in an instant i had decided. yes, this would be my home, rainbow cliff, and this den would be mine. of course i would need to renovate it, make it bigger. i started off by simply marking it as my own.
