Rules The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders. Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission. All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say. Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met. You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page. |

| What he had done, and what he had just said, had put tremendous strains on the relationship that he and the champagne women had whole-heartedly agreed on upon first meeting, even if they had been envelopped in a battle at that first meeting, only to be followed by a brief chat. He wonders what his gods must think, with their once more loyal follower now depending on the presence of a woman not of their following to keep him sane.
His prayers, once silent and constant on their chants, had ceased a long time ago, his faith had been cut off a long time ago, when the gods had stood by and let his Irikah be slaughter, when he had promised that he would protect her with everything that he had learned- instead she had been ripped away from him. It was not common for the hanar of his people to take wives and lovers, so when Thane left his group of assassins, working on his own rather than in a group to be with his Irikah. Now, even, as he stood at the head of the lagoon and guided the men on to finer fields where they could find better pickings of food, water, and women, Thane had never once given thought to his gods, not since he had spoken to Anath that first time. Now, though, as she gives him her permission to touch her, he moves forwards, reaching past her nose and letting his muzzle find the soft nook of skin between her cheek and her neck, breaking lightly against her skin and closing his eyes as he finds the smallest amount of comfort in the closeness. She smells of pine trees and cold stones, her skin feeling smooth against his dark lips. Was this what it was like when he had embraced Irikah every evening before he had left her, sometimes for days or weeks, sometimes for mere hours as his business did not drag him far from home. No, that had been different. He and Anath were just friends now, with their trust that was somewhat lacking in trust, their silence that spoke volumes, and their faiths that were different and yet so intertwined. Brushing his lips down the edge of her neck slowly, he finds the soft slope of her shoulder, where the muscle there is strong and lean, and where he decides to rest his chin for a moment, waiting for Anath to break the silence between them that he had filled with small touches. Oh, how he had hoped that she should break the silence before he fled into the darkness of the trees and returned to the lagoon for another long stretch of time that would surely drive him to madness.
