aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Was winter fast approaching? I think back to the cold and dark nights Sin and I had shared stories and trust with one another, probably to keep eachother going, give us hope for the coming spring that took forever to reach Blossom. Alot had changed in my life and I was beginning to come to grips with that which I could not change and instead, chose to be thankful for that which I still had. My quick thoughts surge to my children, my first litter I had given Blood Titan. His name was no longer fresh on my minds tongue nor did his scent caress me when I needed it the most. I had been foolish enough to take a Demonican wolf as a mate and birth his legacy, how long did I honestly believe he would stick around? Then again.. I think of Lucas and I couldn't thank the soldier enough for what he had done for me even when he had a mate of his own to please he still found time to visit and make sure I was settled enough. Though Lucas and Titan are cousins the two proved to be different in many ways. Lucas settled down when he and Moth took their relationship to the next step while Titan still chose to galavant back to wherever the hell he came from in the first place. My heart ached for him at times but it was more a dull ache rather than a fresh wound in my heart by now, I had adjusted to life alone, much like the one I had lived the majority of my life.

My children were settled or so I believed. Red China was still around finding her place in the world while Braveheart chose to take off with his father, Ninkou too. Perhaps Aurora didn't stimulate them enough? Afterall.. Those two took after their father more than I. Hachiko, however.. I saw myself in him. A whine tugs at my lips at the thought of my son, I hadn't seen him in such a long time and I pined for the knowledge of his wellbeing, I had lost two children.. I couldn't face losing another. Perhaps he had wandered to Saw Tooth? I caught on to how excited he was when he used to visit the place and I was somewhat jealous for I missed those lands too.Still, Aurora had been my home for too long, I could never abandon Sin and the pack now.

I had become so lost in thought I didn't notice the direction I was pacing, still.. I was glad to see my instincts had delivered me to the banks of a river I visited often when thirst got the better of me. Temperatures had not dropped enough to place an icy glaze over the surface and I was relieved when I leaned down casually to claim my fill, and so was my throat! When I came back up and took a good glance at the girl in front of me, I could finally see how far I had come since the traumatic events long ago. My coat was no longer dull and dirty, but clean and refreshed, bouncy and soft as it used to be. The vibrant shades of chocolate and creams stood out against the scenery around me again and I could see I was no longer the broken princess the pack no doubt remember me as, but the beautiful, innocent mistress I was when I first arrived at Aurora.

Speaking of the pack.. Silnce had filled the land as of late. It was eerie and made everything appear dead and unloved. So when the howl of a distant pack mate invaded the air, I was relieved to know I wasn't alone afterall and set off at a gallop to reach the clearing the call came from. I recognise his voice instantly. Cody. The quiet alabastar male who had left Aurora for some time. I was glad he had returned and hoped he would stay this time, it just wasn't the same without the old gang hanging around. I silently question who else will answer him. Sin? I dearly hoped she had found peace and mourned enough for her babies to let them rest now. My heart ached for her and though we hadn't seen eachother in quite some time I knew we would still be close no matter what the distance between. Vela? I missed her and hoped she was well, we would have to catch up at some point. Titan? Nada.. His scent was as cold as his heart and intentions, I knew he wouldn't be there. Kong?.. The thought of him makes my heart flutter in my chest and for the first time I don't feel as guilty as I used to. I hadn't seen him for a while, either. I couldn't help but hope he was there, somehow being near him made everything okay.

I arrive after a short while but others have reached the area before me. I observe Cody first, my bright brown stargazers search out his own set of dreamers for a moment, long enough to acknowledge him with a smile. I turn next to see Sin and immediately my body stiffens. I knew she had gone out once again in search of he children and I had kept my distance somewhat afraid of the news she would return with. I found comfort in believing Russia was alive and well, perhaps adopted by a good hearted female who had never been fortunate enough to deliver her own blood. It was a long shot but it worked and had got me this far. I offer Sin a smile and a nod of my skull knowing she can not see but will sense my movement, I had only respect for her blind or not.

There isn't time for much else before what appears to be a family is plodding their way to the clearing. No doubt newcomers wishing to join but I'm ready for anything non the less.I have to hold back a chuckle when a brave youth approaches sin boldly asking her name. I turn again and this time I spot Vela who I smile to in greeting, eyes bright glad to see my old friend again looking well. I notice a foreign female approaching Cody and I take note of how she fixes her attention so well on him and him alone. It makes me feel insecure but I brush it off and turn again ready to take a seat when i catch his scent, his handsome aroma. My eyes dart about the clearing until they finally land on him. A smile rushes to my features but it is quick to melt away when I notice something different about Kong, something eerie and so unlike the male I had come to know and.. .. I couldn't bring myself to think it, I was fond of him I knew that much but anything else was strictly forbidden. I push myself forward in his direction, paws eating at the ground while my pretty little physique dances toward him beautifully. I can see the new wolf has his attention, afterall.. I did catch her lyrics, mistaking Cody for the alpha? Not a smart move and Kong clearly hadn't taken kindly to the act of ignorance. I pull up beside him, silently wondering why he choses to sit so out of the loop. "Mind if I join you..?" I don't give him time to answer, instead im setting my rump to the ground beside him at fur brushing distance.

I glance about the clearing again, taking in the change of air and noting Codys reaction to the newcomers mistake. "I.. Went looking for you a while ago, I couldn't find you.." I lean in closer to him and whisper, curious as to what he's been up while trying to pull his attention from the scene infront of us knowing how he probably wishes he could react right now.
