PRIME MINISTER'S DECREE

"None." - Leader

The Offspring

Diccon (Cicada x Khar'pern)

Rules

• The Vulcan Peak is where homeless mares come to live as a sisterhood. Stallions may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Warriors keep mainly to fighting, Thinkers keep mainly to raiding, and Politicians may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Codebreaker or Prime Minister for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Prime Minister maintains order within the Peak and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Peak works on the Rules page.

bright lights on a starless night

Giselle grazed the yellowing shoots of grass near the Peak’s border; she was doing her best to get accustomed in her new home. The silver grulla overo mare wouldn’t have even noticed the youthful figure if they hadn’t released a call that reverberated along the rocky planes of the mountains. Her soot and ivory colored skin tensed momentarily while Giselle raised her head and twisted her ears to locate the echo. Giselle then tilted her nose and let out a whirl of a sigh before deciding to give in to curiosity and send her body off in the direction of the stranger’s call. Even though Giselle had only been here at the Peak for several days and should probably feel more uncomfortable, the silver grulla felt more at home than she had felt in a long time (not to mention she had been born under the mighty Peak’s very own shadow). Ever since the death of her father Hallucinogenic, Giselle felt the need to comfort her mother Ardea. However times had now changed and Giselle was now able to reclaim her own direction in life.

A casual trot pushed Giselle into a fluid motion, allowing her feminine physique to stretch out from the hour or so of grazing. Gaining some mass before the winter season rolled around was never a bad thing, so the silver grulla had been constantly keeping her belly full. Giselle’s blue eyes landed on the shape of the yearling as she traversed the terrain after several minutes, speculating the blue roan’s appearance. The silver grulla mare slowed her pace and permitted her neck to drop, demonstrating that she was no threat to the filly. Giselle hadn’t seen too many seasons herself, however she knew that it was odd for a yearling to be off out in the open especially travelling alone. Giselle’s curious blue eyes focused on the blue roan, noticing the light white patterns that sort of matched her overo pattern. Coincidentally at that very second when Giselle was about to let out a welcoming call from her throat, another mare beat her to it. It was a pleasant surprise because when her mother Ardea had spoke to her of the Peak she warned that there hadn’t been too much activity when they had left, and Ardea was uncertain of the possibility of that changing.

Without waiting any longer, Giselle let out a soft whicker – simply to announce her final approach and to greet the two of them. Giselle hadn’t had the chance to meet many faces around the Peak yet, in comparison to the two other grulla mare Giselle stood around a hand taller. Giselle didn’t intend to frighten either of them and naturally she poised a friendly expression on her lips as she nodded her silver grulla head in acknowledgement.

“And I’m Giselle.”

She spoke gently, hoping the other Vulcan didn’t mind her sudden apparition. Giselle was eager to meet everyone that was bold enough to live at the Peak and stand out from the rest of the women in the crowd.
