aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

After sin is satisfied with her fill, the Queen of Aurora shifts her weight delicately, plodding on in direction of a location I was unsure of but she clearly knew well. She lingers toward me brushing her fur against mine and I close my eyes, choking back tears a little more when she tells me she loves me too. When she mentions a new protector, I lift my head instantly almost like an embaressed schoolgirl enquiring who she meant. I say nothing but silently ponder whether or not she was talking about Kong. Another question that would forever go unanswered.

Sin appears bothered, concerned, like something is playing on her mind. Does she worry for the pack? I want to ask her what she wants now and if I could I would rule Aurora once more just to be sure Sins way stayed in place within the pack allowing no one to forget her and the impact she made on these lands. When the dark mistress begins to gently stride across the terrain I follow suit keeping her in my gaze, letting her lead the way to wherever she had in mind with me not leaving her side for a moment. As we continue, I notice the area becoming shielded, dark and eerie yet comforting all the same. The moonlight becomes blocked by heavy storm clouds that hold promise of rain, warm and inviting I can't help but feel part of it. Suddenly without warning, Sin stumbles, tripping awkwardly over a tree stump, something i've never seen her do before. I gasp but hold my ground, knowing she wouldn't want assistance, that would be like taking away her pride. Instead, I die a little more inside watching my friend dissolve infront of me, death, fate eating away at her until there is nothing left.

With a struggle and great pain and difficulty, Sin makes to her feet, refusing to dwell on the sudden incident previously. Instead, she continues until we're approaching a large boulder. The area is enclosed and it would be difficult to find and I hoped it would stay that way, this place clearly holds great significance for Sin and I would guard it greatly. A stike of lightning catches me off guard making me jump, my heart pounds in my chest till I can almost hear it but then Sin diverts my attention, telling me this is the place it all started and here is where she wants to rest. I nod gently and allow Sin space to get comfortable, accomodating best I can staying close to her, laying as close as I can to comfort her. As the rain falls, I find it comforting as it stains my multi hued cloak. Even with the rain fall, I can tell Sin is unable to hold back the tears any longer, and so am I. I let them fall carefree and my audettes perk when Sin speaks again requesting something unexpected of me, to tell her a story.

For a moment I hesitate but soon I know exactly what to say. I take a steady breath to control the tears and the croak in my voice that is full of emotion. "There was once a girl. She married in to a selfish bloodline and gave her mate a litter of beautiful children, pups to call his own. In return, he gave her a home, a purpose. He made her Queen of a beautiful land where breath taking lights dance across the sky often. The new Queen thought she had it all, her knight, her pups, her family, and so many loyal subjects that would fight for her. One day, her knight left on business and never returned, leaving the Queen to raise her children and rule the pack alone, she failed, she couldn't do it. Along her journey, she came to meet a dark lady who knew the lands better than she. She had been a Queen and lingered in shadow protecting the land that was once her own. The two connected and instantly became close friends, best friends. The Queen looked up to the dark mistress greatly and worshipped her, the more the girl came to understand that the other Queen had never truly stepped down from her throne and the pack had been hers all along. Even now, whoever takes the pack for their own, the dark Queen will always be the alphess, royalty, the true leader of the pack. It isn't about how strong you are, how brave you are or how good you like when you're on the throne - It's how admired you are no matter what position you're in." I close my eyes and rest my head beside hers before continuing. "You see, Sin? You will never truly be gone. This land is a part of you, true legends never die. Even in the after life i'll follow you, wait for me, and guide me once more.." My last words are a mere whisper ad I fall softly in to slumber, my head resting close to Sins refusing to leave her even for a moment..
