Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

R I O
when God is gone, and the Devil takes hold
it was dark, and his mind was at ease. the large, luminescent mother in the sky had always been both a comfort and a guide to rio. even back in ies, his homeland, she had been a comfort. and again in blossom when he had made his new home in bright moon. and of course, any glance at the moon spoke to him of satowra, as well. the first and truly only alpha he had ever bowed his head to, and accepted the reign of. the russet coloured boy was born of royalty, and so it had always been others that bowed to him. but satowra was the first he had ever done so for, and would perhaps be his last. he himself did not know for sure. for now, rio found himself in a new land he did not know the name of, a land of many other wolves and strangers he had yet to meet. even the land was different than that of blossom, and of course utterly and completely different than that of ies.

while it all seemed very lively and thriving, rio could not help but pick up the sense that something had happened here. that everything now currently surrounding him had a young, a new feel to it. perhaps there had been a fire here, and the new growth had recently just risen from the ashes? but thinking back to bright moon, he knew there would be traces of such a fire, the scent of soot and charred wood. but his nose did not tell him of any of this. when he found himself finally emerging from the forest he had been traveling through, he found himself distracted by two things. the first, was the sea of green grass that shimmered silver beneath the light of the moon before him. the sight was breath taking. the second thing was the lament of a sad, broken soul coming not too far to the left of his current position. tilting his large skull in that direction, his bright, citrine gaze searched in the darkness until red fur caught his attention, not unlike his own and yet brighter, with a dash of white to it. cautiously moving forward, he let his senses creep with him, allowing him to know the identity of this stranger.

it was a female, younger than him, but not much smaller, with a dark pelt covering her body, save for the red of her tail and splash of white at the end. it reminded him of a fox, but the red reminded him mostly of his own deep russet coat. he did not want to interrupt her, and though he had the urge to join her in song- he politely kept quiet as he took a seat off to the right of her, merely gazing upon her with a bright and intense curiosity, waiting for her song to come to a close and enjoying it as he did. he had not heard something as beautiful as it in a very long time, and it even made a smile curl across his muzzle at the thought of it. and yet he knew from the tone, and sound, that this was a sad and lost soul, which made his maternal instincts want to reach out and console. but as they were strangers, he remained where he was, polite and ever the gentlemen, patiently awaiting the moment he could speak to her.
