Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

It was a summoning howl that woke Jaye from her dreams. She had been resting alone within her den as the summer sun warmed the land and caused her weary bones to grow drowsy. It seemed that Jaye spent most of her days asleep or lazily wandering about. Now that she did not have the ability to hunt or even travel very far from home, Jaye had grown bored and her age was starting to sneak up on her faster than she would like. The mornings were hard for her to get up and move about as her joints protested the cool air and the lack of movement from the night. The black wolfess didn't have the endurance of her youth and it was beginning to show. Her once pure black fur was sprinkled with gray along her spine and dusted with white under her chin and around her muzzle. Every now and then, a quite grunt would escape her lips as she laid down in the sun light. Try as she might, Jaye couldn't hide her age much longer from the eyes of the young and strong. The dark queen had become a blind elder with nothing to give to her pack mates other than her wisdom and stories of old.

With a well hidden moan, Jaye sat up in her den and yawned with a small squeak. Her grandson had called the pack together and she was no exception! Perhaps she could not do much for the pack, but she would be damned if she would be caught skipping out on a meeting. With careful paws, the blind elder left her den and made her way towards the howl. The wind carried the scent of wolves to her, some new, some old, but all family. That would be where they were all gathering and with a small yip Jaye made her way towards them. It had been several months since Jaye had come to live in Glorall and already her paws knew all safe passages and paths she could take through the land. Having nothing to do during the day meant that Jaye could practice moving without bumping into something or falling into the river. Many cuts, bruises, and cold, wet nights were spent honing these skills, but at long last Jaye was able to walk confidently through her home.

The scent of two new comers drew her closer to the group and the sounds of their voices confirmed their location. Weylin was there and it was his voice that Jaye moved towards. Dead eyes gazed forward, focusing on nothing, as the dark wolf sat next to her grandson. He was a good leader and Jaye couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in her chest as she brushed her fur with that of Weylin's. If he was anything like his father and grandfather, Moladion would quake at the might of his power. He was still quite young and had a long ways to go with much to learn. Weylin would make mistakes, he would regret, but in these moments, Jaye felt he would truly shine and learn the harsh lessons all alphas must learn. She would always be there to guide him, all he had to do was ask. There was another voice suddenly that snapped Jaye out of her thoughts. Pan was speaking to one of the newcomers. Something about his leg? It didn't matter to Jaye and she simply remained where she was at her grandson's side. "Hello friends. I am Jaye," she said in a sweet voice. That was all that needed to be said as she took this moment to silently observe the wolves around her.
