CLEAR THE SKIES
Apache's amusement stayed completely flat. A princess, huh? Apache didn't need to know the culture of the people to know this was a form of mockery. He still decided to play along. What did he have to loose? If these wolves paths crossed, and then drove away, it would be nothing to Apache. He would never know the possibilities of what could have been if they did not drive away, so what bad would it be?
Well, Princess, it is a pleasure to meet you. Apache responded, with hints of mockery in his voice when he said 'princess', however, he had no hints of sarcasm in the other parts of his sentence. Perhaps he was being serious, and showing some secret enjoyment of this encounter. He left plenty of space to wonder. He wanted her to ponder over whether or not he was at all content.
She spoke again. Her words began to loose their mask, and he could just barely peek into their meaning. She must have some problems with family, or packs, or both. Ah, but Princess, why would I run from the problem? Isn't it much more simple to rid yourself of the problem by tackling it directly? You'll never have to deal with it again. And so continued Apache's dance as he played her game.
Her next words lost their mask entirely. She seemed to have dropped the game they were playing. Perhaps a more serious conversation was what she wanted, finally. Her words all seemed to be a cry for help, and Apache answered it. I must have never gotten the call that a simple conversation has become a lost art. I was enjoying this talk we are having. Apache responded. Perhaps this would shed more light on his opinion, for his face surely did not. He soon continued, -and perhaps you are in need of a home, and food? I have an offer that I can extend to you. I'm sure if you listen you will not regret it. Apache was of course referencing the new pack. Sulan and him were building the foundations of a new pack, and it needed members. She could be a good recruit. Someone so good at playing a game such as this must be useful.
