Most of the emotions you can ever imagine were rushing through the ess as she waited patiently for the lad to answer. Her amber stargazers fixed on the lads face the whole time, trying to discover how he was feeling. She shifted her weight anxiously, as the lads auds flattened, her face retaining the worried look it had held for a while now. She would never forgive herself if she let this fish slip from her net. He wasn’t like the other wolves that had tried to woo her; he didn’t seem like the type of male that would up and leave, taking a piece of her heart with him. Or was that just wishful thinking?
The lads face changed from a smile to the stone mask he had held upon his maw when they had first met and back again. Each time his face lost its smile the lass felt herself falling further and further into the hole she had managed to put herself in. It was true what she had said. She had grown fond of Henadin, even if she had only just met him. She believed very strongly in love at first sight and she felt that this was one of those situations. She wasn’t quite sure if it was love she was feeling for the brute just yet, but there was definitely something deep within her heart that she hadn’t experienced before. She tried to imagine what the lad was thinking, what he was feeling. She couldn’t imagine it. She hoped that Henadin was also feeling something towards her and that having an adopted son would not put him off wanting to be with her. The lass sighed gently, why wasn’t he saying anything?
As soon as the word Terrel entered the world Henadin turned. He said nothing to her but turned away and began to walk off. The ess felt as though her heart were about to explode and if she had been human a waterfall of tears would have erupted from her eyes. It felt like her world had shattered around her and she was going to be left alone forever. Channing’s eyes averted to the floor not wishing to see her future walk away from her, before the sound of his walking stopped. She looked up and to her relief saw that the male had began to turn round. A wave a comfort and relief washed over her and the sickness she had once felt turned to butterflies. Her banner swayed happily behind her as the male moved suddenly towards the ess and embraced her, a large grin on his kissers. The butterflies jumped in her stomach and a rush of adrenaline pulsed through her veins. His touch was exhilarating and she never wanted it to end. However it did as the male pulled away from her and began to speak. His words liberated her from the anxious cloud that had engulfed her. He didn’t care about her son; in fact he seemed to shrug the whole thing off like it had never existed. The lass smiled happily, her eyes softening and showing a look of content and love. “I just didn’t know how you would take it. Some males don’t like the idea of looking after pups that aren’t theirs.” He then reinforced what had been so clear in the first minutes of the meeting ‘family is family’ and it looked like Channing’s had just grown.
The femme released the deep breath she had been holding in and couldn’t stop the smile that was held on her kissers. Nothing was going to ruin this, but there was still one problem. What was going to happen from here? Did they both feel the same way about each other? Channing moved to the brute slowly and for the second time, rubbed her bodice against his, the same rush of adrenaline filled her veins. This would surely make it clear that she had feelings for him and would leave the door open for him to make the next move. The lass once again fell silent and waited for the lad to reply; only this time she was not so worried about the outcome.
