Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

He couldn't quite put his paw on what it was about the male that incited that hope within him but he could not help it. There was something far too familiar about his scent.. his silhouette... everything. There was such a small, dismal chance that he was but that one in a million was enough to drive Elric forward. The other male seemed just as confused and hopeful; they made eye contact, both their features bright with hope as Elric glided forward. He spoke, the patchwork male of grey and black, his voice filled with excitement and cheer. As if a switch had been flipped, Elric's gaze widened and his tail swung cheerfully behind him as he charged forward a few strides, his head lifting as he moved forward.

"Yes! It is me, Elric," he nodded, flashing a sheepish grin before his ears fell back against his skull, "I... I am sorry. I have been gone for so long. I did not know what had come of you, or mother, or anybody. Please... what has happened?"

They had so much to discuss, so many years worth of events that Elric had missed out - so much! But time seemed against them and the seasons changed rapidly - he wanted to know now, right then and there. How was mother? How were his siblings? Did they have a home - oh! If they did not then Elric would find them one. They had given him his life and his future and perhaps it was time that he should repay them! After almost three years, he had found his father... by luck! If he had simply continued on through the thickets, he may have completely bypassed his father and never have rediscovered him.

Finally, fate had decided to answer to his prayers.

Everything in that moment seemed to dissipate; he ignored the soft sound of water lapping at the shore, the hymn of the trees licked by the wind. In that moment, little more than Vague mattered. Without even asking, he moved to stand only feet from his father before he lowered himself to his haunches, his thick tail looping over his paws and goldenrod ears cupped forward. There was so much to say - would Vague stay? Or had he started a new life without his son?

"What have you been doing all these years, father? I have missed my family dearly. Things are not the same without you all," he sighed, lips tugged back into a broad, toothy grin. His heart pounded against his chest in excitement - where did they begin? Despite the time apart, he felt as if he had simply come home after a day's trip.
