Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

He waited with an almost polite expectance, obsidian eyes focused upwards as Malina reclined, her paws dangling down from the incorrect stone she’d chosen as he thusly informed her of her choice. Of course, Pan had never been given to consider that she might take offense at his words, that constantly, if not politely, informing others of their poor choices would not be the easiest way in which to make friends. Within the space of his brilliant thought and ability to consider, the young golden male had developed of himself the opinion that, while not like him- for he learned early on that he is the outcast in this world, others surely do seek to improve themselves as he does, that surely they consider things to at least some extent and that, given that consideration, they seek to improve their own areas of poor performance. Naturally, being as he is, knowing indeed that he sees and thinks and often understands far beyond his counterparts, the boy believes he is doing the very world itself a service by helping to point out flaws he feels others have missed. It is hardly the fault of Sulan or Seven, Jaye or Selene, even Malina- that they cannot compare to the exception that is his mind and seeing this incomparable difference the boy has made it his mission to help such creatures by telling them with an easy grin and glowing dark eyes- that they are doing it wrong. It has never yet occurred to him that they do not wish to be told such a thing. Perhaps one day- someone will tell him. Until that day however he will continue to beam like the sun itself, gorgeous features bright with good intent and a falsely perceived arrogance. Malina smirked down towards him in that moment, the boy’s head tilting slightly in perception of this facial gesture, surely indicating she was about to attempt some form of wry humour before she spoke, his hypothesis mostly confirmed before she seemed to wish to engage him in a discussion. His tail waved a moment, lips pulling back to flash beaming white teeth once more.

“Perhaps, yet you would not say such a thing if it was your intent and indeed, I should very much like to see you attempt to corner me within an open field with the only occasional boulder and tree. After all, Malina, perhaps it has escaped your notice, but neither trees nor boulders possesses corners, thus it is impossible to corner me, without corners.”

Now that- was arrogance and indeed he is aware of his playful jest this time, teasing her lightly over her apparently having failed to notice the lack of corners on trees, turning her words back upon her. He is learning after all, that while being surely a low form of humour, that sarcasm and irony- are amusing. He laughs easily at his own jest, the sound a mix of boyish tones and something deeper, more manly, after all his voice has become markedly lower this past year, holding the same rich smoothness that Indus once held and indeed, surely utilised if he managed to Father fifteen offspring from four different females. His easy laughter trailed off once more, ears flicking in momentary consideration of her last sentence.

“Logically you would indeed be faster, thusly more agile, yet upon an open plain agility would do little to aid you, you would be far better to force a larger opponent into a smaller fighting area thus preventing him the room to move fully and access the depths of his strength while allowing you to twist and turn where he cannot. This is also a risk to you however, as it forces you to fight in close quarters and if you did manage to be caught by your opponents jaws it would be...unfortunate at best. In fact this is a rather fascinating topic and I should love to discuss it further. Do you learn of such things in your Art? The best methods of fighting in open fields or close quarters? I have been told the most engaging tales about the battles of the Undefeated King Devil, a member of your order and even of King Heyel and his battle with my Mother, they say the Angel King forced the fight onto a hillside and slid down a cliff to launch the first attack from above, fascinating! Don’t you think?”

Once more the gorgeous grin erupted, obsidian eyes alight with obvious delight in speaking about such things. After all, despite his evident gifts, he is still a boy, still male and the idea of battles and fights entertains him to no end. Particularly the battle in which Wild Justice had lost, a dishonour it seemed, that she had never recovered from and one Indus bore along with her though Trenus had never been his to defend, not really. They had still called Pan it’s Prince for as long as they lived, the true heir to the plateau pack, though the golden boy never once indulged such delusions. He never wanted it anyway. Malina glanced sideways, as if to examine the rock he’d mentioned earlier as he continued to rest beneath her rock, having shuffled back just a little at his suggestion of engagement before speaking of her own unique scent. Of course, he is unaware of the compliment of his words, simply speaking his mind on the matter, after all, it is true, she smells lovely, like flowers and sun and he sees no reason why he shouldn’t tell her such things, just as he failed to understand that his unknowing flirtation with Selene would given Weylin cause to be upset. Pan had only been polite- yet social matters often remain lost to him. At least Ever seemed to enjoy his efforts. Malina cleared her throat, black eyes lifting to her own, unaware he had seemingly floored her before he nodded.

“I should like to see these flowers one day, but yes, let us engage in experiments.”

He lifted himself easily to his paws, short stature somewhat made up for by his ever-growing muscle, though why it seemed fate had given a boy so inclined to have a battle of wits instead of fangs so much muscle is a question in itself. He nodded as she spoke, backing away to allow her some distance to leap, contemplating the positioning of his own feet when she suddenly leapt, catching the golden male entirely off guard as he yelped in surprise and twisted, dropping to the earth out of sheer reaction, hind legs kicked upwards in an effort to catch her mid-flight and launch her over him- else miss and allow her to land completely on top of him. Really, he knows a significant amount about fighting, possess all the knowledge to rule Moladion with his skill- yet, knowing about something and actually doing it are evidently different things, the young male having expected someone to shout go. Lesson learned, in an actually fight, nobody was going to say go. Noted. Even so he laughter was palpable as he rolled, attempting to pull himself to his feet once more and even shake Malina off him or ready himself to lunge again.
