aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

Kal had chuckled at Leila’s feisty response to the race – sure, he had more muscle to carry, but he had been constantly on the move for the last two years, never staying in one place for more than a week, and therefore had the stamina to compensated for his added muscle and added weight. At her next words, he cocked his head… that he would clearly win in a fight. While he had been willing to compete against the fae in a race to see who was faster, he did not, nor would he ever have the urge to compete against her in a fight. Just as he would be up for some friendly competition against his friend Kong… but not in a fight. Kal knew she was just using the reference to compare their two different body types, but still… but the conversation moved, with Leila telling what she had been daydreaming about – home. She felt odd belonging to a pack once more, which was a feeling that he could surely sympathize with – as stated, he had been a loner for the past two years. The fae continued her monologue, and Kalgalath merely smiled as she expressed her happiness at choosing to join his pack – she enjoyed the natural beauty of the terra.

Kalgalath grinned at the fae’s response to his use of the word ‘beauty’. Her orbs had slitted themselves and her lovely cranium had tilted. But the brute left no time for her to question him, or for her mind to over think his words, for he had taken off. And then the race had began. Though the brute had the advantage of knowing the route, Leila easily kept up with the pace, her shorter legs moving at a much quicker pace to match his easily long ones. Although he tried to pull far ahead of her by swerving around, under and over the obstacles in the way, the fae was never more than a step behind him. This only caused his grin to grow – knowing that the fae was likely enjoying the chance to stretch out her limbs. But as they burst through the last layer of the trees, Kalgalath managed to stop more gracefully than the fae, again because he had known what lay ahead whilst the fae had not. Leila remained motionless for a few moments, regaining her breath, before smiling. You’re not such a bad runner after all she said with a giggle as her limbs propelled her back over toward Kal. “Aye, Leila. I am quite agile for my size, but shh – don’t tell anyone. It’s my secret weapon.” The brute winked at her with a grin, and then focused upon her body motions.

She glanced about, examining the surrounding scenery, and nodded as if pleased with what she found. He sat upon the silt as Leila travelled to the water’s edge for a drink. He watched her turn her head toward him, a devilish smile plastered upon her kissers. Her maw let loose a call for him to join her by the water’s edge, and though he knew she probably had some sort of mischief in mind, he allowed his bodice to lift from the ground. His muscled haunches pushed him forward toward the water’s edge – indeed, the water looked very inviting indeed. The chase through the firs had raised his body temperature, and though he panted, allowing his pink tongue to loll out of his maw, he still felt overly warm. As he neared the water, the lip of the lake lapping at his paws, he kept his icy gaze upon the fae, wondering what she was going to do to him. Slowly, he began to lower his maw toward the refreshing water to get a drink, never once taking his faze off of Leila.
