Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

At once Iblis new this wolfess was a good one. She was pure and innocent and a wolf who certainly knew what it was like to have fun. She spoke in a way similar to young Rainbow had and the scarred male smiled at the memory of the strange and adorable wolfess he had protected a few months back. Would this, Fly be another wolf who would need his protection? Only time would tell. But she was a friendly soul who invited Iblis to join her and the lonely male was only too happy to oblige. Once he had told her about her now muddy fur, she took off like a bullet towards the stream as her giggles followed her. Iblis smiled to himself and followed behind her at a slower pace. When he reached her the water had already soaked her fur and took the mud away revealing two distinct markings on her back. She called them wings and the warrior could help but agree with her. They did, indeed, look like a pair of russet wings upon her back folded neatly like a bird.

Iblis stood on the water's edge, the cool liquid only a few inches from his paws, as he watch Fly play. Something she had said made his ears prick up and his hackles rise slightly. Were you running away from something, Fly? You're not in any danger are you?" Iblis asked. If this wolfess was in trouble, maybe she really did need the help of a knight and Iblis could be her hero. It had been a long time since he felt he had been needed and his fangs longed to sink into the flesh of a wrong doer. The need to fight was in Iblis' blood as was the desire to protect those who could not protect themselves. He was a warrior and would die a warrior’s death one day. Perhaps he would be known throughout the land as a guardian of the night, protector of the weaker, and slayer of evil. But this was not why he did what he did. No, Iblis could care less if children spoke his name in awe or if elders spoke of him in legend. He did this simply because no one else would.

Fly's sweet voice interrupted Iblis' thoughts as she asked him to join her in the water. Deep brown eyes stared at the clear waters for a moment before he smiled to the white female and walked slowly into the cold waters. He moved to stand by her side as the water lapped at his chest and smiled. "I guess I can tell you a little about myself if you want. What would you like to know, Fly?" Iblis asked, wondering how much he should actually tell her. He couldn't help but wonder about her story however, the more she spoke the more he began to understand her situation and a swell of pity entered his chest. Had this girl forgotten her past?
