News - SUMMER

Summer has arrived. The world has been well at peace, and others seem to be trying to take advantage. They believe we are lazy and complacent. We are no such thing. Remain vigilante, friends and family.

Give your congratulations to Maiko. She has been promoted to Blizzard; she earned it.

We also have an activity check going. Please reply so I can make adjustments accordingly. Check will go for an entire month so we can hopefully capture everyone.

As always, if you have need of me, do not hesitate to find me.

I AM TREATING THIS THREAD AS AFTER KANE WENT TO TAKE SINOPA OUT OF IROMAR BECUASE OTHERWISE THE STIPULATIONS THAT WEYLIN WILL BE SETTING TO INTER-PACK INTERACTIONS WOULD START TROUBLE BETWEEN DIVEEN AND GLORALL.

He is comfortable with his people at his back, glad to have them even. They force him to be sensible. They require him to be a King first and so it makes him less likely to lash out at those who could have so easily kept his brother from dying a pointless and empty death, those who kept his soul from fulfillment, those who saw no issue in leaving his soul to wither in the face of selfish reasoning and foolish betrothals. What had the white lunatics been thinking, knowing full well that wolves imprinted in this land. There was neither sense in the idea of match making in the face of Imprinting - other than cruel and selfish desire to machniate around fate and a disdain for the natural order. Pan offers a reminder as he thinks this - bidding him blame Iromar and not Diveen for what had happened. “I blame those who have killed him, I blame those who did not see the dead avenged. I will not be starting a war - no matter what you might think of me, I am not entirely Nanruan in my beliefs. I will not cause a blood feud here.”

He can sense the fidgeting of D'Mani, the only one he did not quite know. He could hear her sigh and saw now and again how her eyes wandered to those around her with a sort of bored apathy until she caught his gaze. She nods and he returns the acknowledgment. He hears Ajax's comment and looks over to where the two sit, looking away when it is clear the conversation will not commence so long as his attention is there. It is a quiet day and he would hear, even if he was not looking, so he settles into the idea that he still did not quite acquire the trust of his adopted son. He looks then as Isola comes within scenting distance, the wind - as said - with her. He can smell those who haunt her steps too - Kane among them. He looks to where the wind claims he lay in wait, eyes turning like white ice and his hackles rise on his shoulders. He does not blame the mate of the Queen of Diveen for protecting her - only for making the life of his own brother into misery to the end.

A white form breaks from the brush and there she stands. White and red and black, the creature who had left a quite deep wound unavenged. His eyes are not as hard as they fall on her, he had learned that to hate Isola was to earn the hate of Finley and he could not - even now - bear to think of further angering his brother's spirit. Her poise is a feint and Weylin can clearly scent that while she stands alone, she is not. Her ploy is to seem strong, then. He does not let his thoughts on this game-playing show, What was the point if falsifying strength when all it would do was encourage enemies and those who have no care for Diveen one way or another to test that false strength? Then, a surprise. She passes over him and speaks first to his Queen. His ears flatten to the sides for the insult that move had given - and stood from his seated position with tail arching high over his back in response to the maneuver that brought Isola back to stand before Weylin.

She speaks strangely and it seems to him that it is not so endearing as Finley had described. It made no difference to him except that the syntax seemed to give her airs and it had never sat right that her particular bloodline claim some sort of superiority over other bloodlines of as much merit and worth as theirs. His eyes are slightly guarded as she and he lock gazes and she speaks her piece. “A pleasure, I'm sure.” And there is a hint of snarky humor behind the innocent statement. He follows her to where she leads, turning first then to Natalya. “This will, as it seems, take a while. I am ill at ease, Gunner. Ease my woes.” And he knows that she understands what balm she can provide - craves to provide. He will await her howl to cease talks early if he needed. And then he nods to the others, confident that he would have no qualms putting to dirt any who might have a mind to turn the meeting into a capture, and seats himself within Diveen snow and before a foreign Queen.

Let her have her gutless assassins circle as they like, those who did Isola no favors in allowing her to sit idly by and earn the insult and disdain of her neighbor. He can see a sort of high-minded serenity on her face as she sits, almost daring him to sit in confidence within her borders - and yet he will not be goaded or dared. He sits because he will not let the ruiner of her brother think that she had somehow a leg up for any reason. She speaks first and he is fine that she see fit to lead out as he was the one called to talk, not the one to call upon her. When she pauses and contemplates speaking more. It is truly a wise thing she does in being more open than she was naturally given to be. Some of the bitter coldness against her subsides. It is clear in the stiffness in his shoulders relaxing subtly and his hard gaze not quite daggers any longer.

He hears her out, listens without mocking or irony. He listens because he seeks even a sliver of the love he held for his brother to prove her true to her word. He listens, aching for a companion in grief, and yet for all she says - there is a limit, a boundary that bars her from being such a thing. She will not be one who will talk to him of Finley in camaraderie. She hurts because it is her soul - because she has to. It is because she is uncomfortable, made so because she lost the one who she had so easily pushed aside. It was easy and her whole life had been all but handed to her on a plate. She expected her father's people to follow and they did. She expected her Soul, or so she calls him, to lap at her chin and shadow her while she bedded the unnatural mate her parents had chosen. While she had felt loss, she had been very well handed what she still possessed and it leaves Weylin finding her wanting in her grief, no matter that she might well feel she deserved to grieve Finley more.
