aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

As she waited for the owners of the territory to arrive, little miss Kobato was hit with a strange feeling. She closed her caramel stargazers and let the memories flow through her being. She opened the door for them—accepted them, and let them take her over. A face—soft, young and handsome came into focus. Dark ebony fur, caressed by the loving fingers of moonlight. Cerulean portals, full of terror and hope all the same. The background was blurred, unimportant… nothing compared to what stood in front of her. The young male’s movements were short and choppy though… unnatural. Kobato he said and in the present time the teen pricked her eaves forward, reliving the moment to its fullest. Run Kobato. But she couldn’t. She wouldn’t. She wouldn’t leave him. She told him this. To her, her voice was muffled and strange, alienated. He smiled kindly at her lyrics and pushed her into the undergrowth. Be brave little Kobato. Run and get away from here. Take your dreams that you’re always draming and pursue them. You’ll meet and lose many loved ones I’m sure, but no matter what happens, be brave. Don’t give up. He looked behind him as a howl sounded off in the distance, then he turned back to her, his eyes wavering with a bit of anxiety reflecting in their depths. I’ll find you when the war is over. Now go! The memory faded as the boy shoved her into the bushes and left her. Darkness followed.

Now her portals flickered open and she jumped a bit in surprise when she found a male standing in front of her. By the way he curled his tassel over his body, he must’ve been the alpha. His voice was not as harsh as Serris’ had been but it was still full of power and authority. I am Kobato! She answered after he had finished speaking, smiling childishly and wagging her tassel as a sign that she had rid herself of her daymares. Mister, mister, what’s yours? Purely innocent and naïve, friendly, caring and gentle. Kobato was known as a ditz, which wasn’t quite too hard to see right off the bat, but she did have the capacity to feel emotions for others as real as she felt her own emotions. Why was she here he asked? She had the answer to that one right away! I am here to heal hearts! A strange reason indeed. He had inquired of her intentions and she tilted her head to the side, confused. What were her intentions? Hadn’t she just told him that? HE repeated the question again and she winced a bit at having had to been asked twice. But she spoke gently, looking off distantly despite the fact that happiness still surrounded her like armor. I want to fulfill my wish… she stated gently, closing her eyes and smiling. And to do that, I must make others happy! That’s why I heal hearts—if my friends are happy, maybe my heart will be happy soon too! Her intoxicating smile was directed towards the alpha… this was no lie and it could not sound like one. Such a lie would sound stupid and unnatural, a sure giveaway. And no wolf was there ever in this world that spoke a flat out lie that sounded like a lie.

When another wolf came forward, a femme, Kobato took her judgmental gaze open-mindedly. The lkady was observing with a critical eye (or so the young lass thought) and she greeted the nameless alpha. Ko did not speak up. She smiled the same as she always did and left it at that. However, when the alpha began to speak again, she listened. So the pretty one’s name was Magic? What a cute name! Leave it to Kobato to think that such a name was, in her terms cute. The other words made no sense to her, however, so she chose to ignore them, instead, looking up at the sky and tracing the patterns of the clouds with her optics. The two fell silent and Kobato looked back quickly, trying not to get sidetracked even more than she already was. She grinned toothily at him. A scruffy look, but a pure one nonetheless.

This was all for a reason, as many actions often are. How she wished to see him again… Ioryogi.
